Wednesday 18th December 2019 - Hey, Mr. Churchill comes over here

Morning.

Lyrics - Hey, Mr. Churchill comes over here

We have a yellow warning for fog and ice so I'm not sure whether I'll be running outside this morning - will assess on my walk. I wish I could hibernate!

What:           short and slow
Why:            ran long yesterday/every run is at the moment
last hard:     sleeping
Last rest:     8/12

Yesterday's lyrics - Christmas in L.A. - The killers.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

  • Morning!

Lyrics: a partial yes. I know the title but can't remember the act.

    What: probably a short run

Why: will assess the weather situation, also.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    morning all
    The unusual lyric seems familiar...
Emz - thanks for the Lucas update!
Fog and Ice? Actually a little warmer darn sarf than it has been. Don't think we've had a frost all week (and I leave the house before 5).

What - easy lunchtime, coaching village gang tonight
Why - recovery. Longer set last night (on grass). pyramids, 200,400,600,800,1k,800,600,400,200 all with 200 easy. Seemed to be running OK, which is good for the week before 18 week P&D. Have a very local trail 10k Sunday as a sharpener. I'm not doing it only because they have mince pies, mulled wine and a bar at the finish and I'm not driving...
    Last Rest - October
    Last Hard - Last night
  • Morning

Fog and ice doesn't sound like a nice combo really.  Mildish here too at the moment.

Nice pyramiding Dustin.  With all that on offer at the 10k - take a short cut so you get to the finish earlier?  You wont want the winners to munch everything and drink the bar dry (unless you win yourself that is!)

Good news regarding heating and Lucas emzap.

    What: lunchtime GA miles
Why: get out in daylight today
Last hard: feeling enthusiastic about work today (looking forward to Friday and then 2 weeks off)
    Last rest: 16.12.

Lyrics: no and I was completely wrong yesterday

  • Morning again!

No fog here, but quite icy for the first and last couple of hundred metres; once on the river bank and shale paths it was fine. Even some sun, although that has now decided to retire.

What: just under half an hour with 2k pushed quite hard over undulations

Why: need to work on the hills, and that was a start
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Working today.
Swim during lunch break and hope to join Erica after work (day 7 today)
Bright, still but icy day here.

what: 2 miles done this morning
why: thought I would up the miles
    last hard: that
    last rest: 31/12/16

Hoping I am on the mend, I feel brighter but my back doesn't

possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Afternoon

    What: 6.20miles
    Why: Because
    Last hard: fatigue
    Lyrics: Sounds familar so no

Norun Monday too tired and ice stopped play yesterday but chest is chesty and gunky.
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.
    Progression
  • It was actually better out today than yesterday- I like it when the forecast is wrong that way.

There's a lot of it about Poppy.

Good news on the lurgy not so good the back Wabo. I hope it goes quickly.

    Top supporting OH.

Are you planning to do much in your break Hazel?

That sounds like my kind of race Dustin.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • It was slippery here too Alehouse - the most it's been for me so far. I'm taking more painkillers than I'd like but other than that and not sleeping well I'm ok thanks.

Hope you managed to make use of the time Hazel. You definitely shouldn't be expected to make the time up - it's their fault.

Are you having a long xmas break chicksta? 13C sounds positively tropical.
Yep - Luckily December 24th and 31st are bank holidays here. Coupled with my free Monday and quite a bit of leftover holiday from 2019 I'm off for two weeks. Can't wait! I'm on call for the 27th and the 30th as we're low on staff but hopefully I won't have to do anything.

Glad the forecast wasn't too bad.

Dustin: That 10k sounds perfect! Well done on the pyramid too.

Hope you managed your lunchtime miles, Hazel

Wabo and poppy: healing vibes re. back and lurgy.

What: 10 miles with some hills
Why: haven't done hills for some time
Last hard: today felt harder than it should. I slept badly again and was super tired. And there was too much annoying traffic about on the hills (mainly cyclists and school kids)
    Last rest: 10/12
    Lyrics: Yes

  • Joined Erica for last 10k of 50k on track today. Run almost half an hour faster today.
    350m  swim earlier
