Lyrics - Running down my batteries

It's going to be a long day without even a walk to pass the time
:(
I hope it's worth it and that I'm soon back running.

What:            nothing
Why:             told to rest
Last hard:     doing nothing will be hard
Last rest:      2/1
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning!

    Lyrics: no

Rest well, LMH! Hope you have a supply of books and films. And no dancing to music. There's always cricket to listen to!

Yesterday's lyrics were Route 66, covered by many from Nat King Cole to the Rolling Stones. 66! Not sure how I suddenly became that old!

    What: short run plus stretches

Why: easy day/need to get back in the habit
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • I'm not into the cricket Alehouse and find it hard to sit for more than an hour or so even with a book I'm enjoying but I shall do my best. I may head in to town for a little wander as I did confirm that ordinary walking rather than 'going for a walk' was allowed. Do you have any work lined up this term?
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Morning

I would find it hard to rest as well LMH.  Can you do some baking maybe?

Hope you had a nice day yesterday Ale.

You sound very positive about your running WP.

Seems you made good use of your day off yesterday Chicksta.

What: some miles with strides later
    Why: ticking over
Last hard: yesterday's hills - don't know why but I thought if my legs were tired from a hilly hike, it would be a good idea to run a hilly route
    Last rest: runningwise 01.01.20

    Lyrics: no
  • I could Hazel, it's my usual distraction activity but I don't want to be eating the results!

    Morning all
LMH - I share your angst. Is there any gardening you can do? Not really walking but active - and outside...
Hazel - ahh hills, love 'em!

Thanks for the hamstring concerns, I think it's just a bit tight - I'm seeing QoP a week Monday but have been stretching it out for 2-3 days. Managed to nail the club set last night: 10x 600s with the first 500 setady, last 100 an uphill sprint...
Today - very easy & short lunchtime
Why - Hampshire County XC tomorrow...(indeed I think most County champs)
    Last Rest - few weeks
    Last Hard - Yesterday
  • I don't do gardening Dustin - far too much of a risk of injury at the best of times, not to mention cold, muddy, boring........... Glad to hear that your hamstring is manageable. Do you know what the course is like tomorrow? Everywhere is still really wet round here.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Battening down the hatches
    50mph wind
Glad I got 4 miles in yesterday evening.

Taking eldest son +gf to airport later this morning then it's back to two.
  • Afternoon

Hazel: I really am enjoying it.I think inMarch i have been back 5 years and finally I can add in little bits of hill work, intervals to mix up training and Achilles copes well.

OH: Blimey that is some wind speed.

    What 7 miles hilly 640ft
    Why: Because
    Last hard Tuesday
    Lyrics: Nope

Another good run a little slower but happy with it:-)
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

Good news the one pillow seems to have sorted your issues Wabo. I have cleared out some old paperwork, taken most of the xmas decs down, baked apple pie muffins ('healthiest' baking I could think of) done a few core exercises that I thought wouldn't trouble my knee, written and posted a letter, finished a magazine that is a couple of months old, taken a cake to MiL's for when she gets back from visiting FiL and am about to do the ironing.

Hope the wind didn't cause T+gf any issues OH.

You seem to be recovering well Poppy.

Wow LMH that's a lot of tasks done!

What: walk to town and back and hopefully some yoga (Adrienne's video) later
Why: rest day here, but trying to still keep active
Last hard: last night!  20 minutes circuits followed by speedwork on track
    Lyrics: nope

    Glad you slept better Wabo.
    Have a lovely day all
  • Afternoon!

Not happy with the cricket, Emz! And don't rush things running-wise! I suggest that you build a steady base until around Easter or until Lucas is 6 months and only then decide on targets for the year. And thanks for the Adrienne reminder.

    Take it easy, LMH!

    What: 37 minutes

Why: ran for longer than intended as it was pleasant out there; kept the pace down. Some stretches; must look at Adrienne for more.

  • What did you think of the club emzap?

It helps to pass the time Wabo, and I'm not good not doing.

Alehouse - did I give you the apple pie muffin recipe? It's gluten and vegan.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Please send the recipe, LMH! Sounds good! And meant to say, no work for next term at present!

And I note that it is still light...

  • I just did days 1 and 2 of Adriene's January series and boy did I need it. Quite tense and creaky :). Guess my usual stretching routine doesn't quite cut it.
Hubby was wondering why I suddenly walked more upright and seemed taller.

    Busy bee, LMH.

Sounds like you had fun at the new club, em.

    Glad you slept better, wabo.

    Nice hilly 7, poppy.

Tough sesh, Dustin. Glad the hammy held up.

Jealous of your daylight, ale. We have OH's weather. Strong winds and torrential rain. Never managed to get out but just as well as I ran quite a lot recently and I'm a bit niggly. So yoga is just what the doctor ordered.
