Saturday 1st February 2020 - When I was young

Morning.

Lyrics - When I was young

Sorry to hear that chicksta - is it time to see your physio.

Glad you found your key chamolk. Rest would eventually settle the knee the trouble is how long would it take? The advice is to use it if it isn't affecting my gait which is why I aborted yesterday. Once I've done the weekly shop this morning I shall go for a walk and see how it feels and if it isn't painful walking I'll set off for a short trot but be prepared to stop and walk back again if necessary.

Have a good race Wabo.

What:           hopefully a short, easy, pain free run
Why:            London/mental health/managing the knee
Last hard:    the knee not being ok
Last rest:     26/1

Yesterday's lyrics - Rain by Alanis Morrissette.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning!

    Lyrics: I believe so

What: short run and lend some help at parkrun

Why: not up to 5k yet!

Hope the knee feels rather better this morning, LMH!

Go Wabo! And anyone else racing or parkrunning!

A better night and the heat pad was a help; managed to wedge it next to my back with some pillows. Fine as long as I didn't move. Heat is definitely a help: hope to get some when I have a few days in Sevilla next week!

Jamuary's figures: 31 days run but only 106k covered. 4 parkruns in the first half of the month.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Morning all
Feeling up for today, got my vest on already. Off to watch Cleo dance first then off to the race
    Have a good day all
What 5 mile race, 1 warm up 2 cool down
Why getting miles in with mate
    Last hard last night
    Last rest 31/12/16
Oh pulled up alongside of me at 2.25 if my planned 3 miles.
Last night!  Jumped in the car didn't I!! 🤣
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Good luck, wabo

Did your run go ok, LMH?

    Nice consistency, ale.

I'm 10k short of my 400k January target but the dodgy leg got into the way.

Going to make a physio appointment next week. I went to parkrun today and jogged 10k in total (parkrun in a pedestrian 27:29) but my right leg felt like concrete and I had trouble managing a normal gait cycle. No idea what's wrong :/
  • Too many of us on the bench with injuries and lurgies...

Not good news LMH. How did the walk/run go?

Hope Wabo has had a great race to compensate. Bet it was nice to see Cleo dance.

400k is a lot Chicksta! Physio sounds like a good idea.

Haven't looked at my Jan total. With this week certainly lower than it should be.

Break in Sevilla sounds nice Ale.

Thank goodness you found your key chamolk. Not the time of year to have to wait around outside.

What: short max. recovery paced run?
Why: no point in trying to do more.
Last hard: don't want to go out and find I still can't train but if I don't I won't know.
Last rest: perceived: the whole bloody week

Lyrics: several possibilities? Better to say haven't a clue.
  • Afternoon everyone

Ran to and from parkrun, so 10 miles total, with parkrun itself 21:29 I think.

390k in a month is very impressive, well done chick
Nice streak ale, despite the back
Hope the walk goes well LMH, maybe a little jog
Waiting to hear how it race goes Wabo

  • Hope the run went ok Hazel.

No point in running if it's altering your gait chicksta - you'll only make something else an issue too. Hope you can get an early appointment with your physio.

Glad you had a better night Alehouse.

Can't believe you jumped in the car Wabo! Sounds as though you have your race head on.

    Nice miles chamolk.

Knee felt ok on my walk so i decided to try a run but over dressed in case I needed to walk home again. I could feel my knee after about a mile and it did get a bit worse as I ran but never as bad as yesterday. Did half of my usual Saturday mileage and am hoping there'll be no reaction and I can run again tomorrow.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Afternoon,

    Good Luck Wabo!!

    Nice mileage today Chamolk.

January mileage 154.29 not bad considering I have been ill and ice days.

    What: 6.15 miles
    Why: Because I can
Last hard:  All week has been tricky.
    Lyrics: Maybe so a no

    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

I did have a good race. Felt strong, but really thought I was going to be sick at the finish!
47.27 not bad for me of late and we did make it an 8 miles run so happy days

  • Well done Wabo!

Sorry I've been awol, not really sure where...

Thursday a terrible run, cut 5km short to 3km as I just wasn't feeling it.

Yesterday walked about 6 miles with Lukey in the sling.

Today parkrun, 44:21 with Lukey in the pram. Fastest I've done with him.

Lots of illness and injury going on here, please all be careful and get well/recover soon.

Dustin that is frustrating about the trains. However after nearly 5 years of Deutschebahn, Our trains seem quite good. I was regularly delayed by an hour or more...

    Wabo great racing.

Chamolk great mileage after your illness.

    Hazel take it easy.

Lmh and ale hope knee/back improve soon.

    Have a lovely evening all
