Sunday 23rd August 2020 - I'm going to take my time

Morning.

Lyrics - I'm going to take my time

I have all the time in the world

Hoping the knee will allow a run today but won't really know until after I've walked Lola/given it a go.

What:          something or nothing
Why:           knee
Last hard:   not being able to run
Last rest:    22/8

Yesterday's lyrics - Can't Run But - by Paul Simon.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Morning LMH.  Is the knee feeling a bit better today then?

What: we are doing a 10km family walk today
Why: family time plus getting in my 5km a day
Last hard: sleeping, was very bad last night despite being tired.
    Lyrics: nope

Hope Els is getting on ok (and you too OH, but you seem to have your isolation list of things to do!).
Today we will get the much more loved brownies after our walk.

    Have a great day all.
  • More house and garden activities
    Self isolation
Last hard - daughter's wedding plans
    Latest knockbacks:
    Quarantine from Switzerland
Meal woul mean having separate 2m distanced tables for different households.
Now looking to minimal ceremony and hopefully having a god party in 2021
    Lyrics no but appropriate

    Morning!

    Lyrics: no

Not easy trying to organise anything at present, OH!

Enjoy your walk, Emz! Hope it stays dry. Very wet here at present.

Hope the knee lets you play, LMH!

What: probably a short run plus stretches. But no run until the rain blows over.

Why: ran long yesterday and didn't stretch enough
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Morning,

Oh: It is hard at the moment with events!

    What: 6.21 miles/walk/weights/abs
    Why: Because I can
    Last hard: Tiredness
    Lyrics: yes

An enjoyable faster run today and I stayed dry!
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.
    Progression

    Nice running poppy
Alehouse no rain here at all, enjoy your run when you can
Oh it's so hard indeed to getting anything arranged.
My oh went out for a friend's birthday last night and they went up to London. He said it was so odd all quiet and deserted. Strange times
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • So sorry to hear that OH. I do think that a small ceremony with a big party when circumstances allow would probably be the best way forward.

Enjoy the walk and the brownies emzap.

I thought you liked the rain Poppy :-)

Surprised that London was quiet Wabo.

    Not today unfortunately Alehouse.

Whilst better than yesterday my knee was quite painful on this morning's walk and getting worse rather than better. Whilst I may have been able to run on it I really couldn't see the point, I didn't think I would get far or that it would be enjoyable. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I'm getting to the stage where I'm hoping the Wrexham race won't go ahead so I don't feel the need to keep hurting myself. I'll still (hopefully) be running a marathon on that day for the virtual VLM but I know I can complete that if I don't run another step between now and then. It's the pressure to not turn up to the race if I don't feel I have a reasonable chance to get close to or under three hours that makes me feel I must get these long runs done.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Afternoon.

Hope Els is ok OH. Sorry to hear about more setbacks regarding the wedding. We have rising numbers here too (who hasn't), I guess that's why Switzerland is on the quarantine list now.

Enjoy your break Chicksta. Are you in deepest Bavaria if you have left civilization? ;)

Hope you sleep better tonight emzap and can fit in your 5k without too much family stress.

Did you manage a dry run Ale?

    Nice activity mix WP.

Bit worried about the above LMH. How big is the risk you might put yourself out for longer? (With the LRs or the race itself).

What: 14k (just under) hill race with 1000m (also just under) of ascent in 1:40:13 (equalling my 2015 course PB)
Why: sole remaining race of the regional hill series (10 races).
Last hard 1: that was with several 1:5 sections.
Last hard 2: need to find a new abode by the end of Jan, landlady just warned me we will be getting official letters soon.
    Last rest: 30.03.

    Lyrics: no
  • Sorry to hear that you are going to have to move Hazel - I guess you weren’t planning to? My physio says that I’m not doing any damage though continuing to run at the moment is delaying recovery. Can’t believe how much damage I managed to do in the fall- I was just getting back to being able to run most days, long runs, more miles etc.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Oh and els that's so sad for the wedding but I guess you get to look forwards to an even bigger party?
Hazel that's annoying but good she warned you I guess
Lmh I am frustrated for your recovery on your behalf!

Did the Hanbury circular walk. They say it's 11 km but measured just under 9 on my watch. I made it up to 9 as my stepmum is sponsoring me per km!

    Beautiful walk.

    Stunning pics Emzap

Hazel sorry to hear, hope you find somewhere better

LMH - No rushing it.... take care

OH, that cannot be easy sorting out, hope the right plans and compromises can be made.

Really good day yesterday with a (Not) parkrun 5k, on the Dolphin Route (a PB by 4 secs of 24:56) which represents a good time for me lately.

Followed that up today with 4.8m and fell badly at 4.76m (leg issues and dragging so MS related... no real damage other than have some deep cuts and bruises.) on that note, had a consultation with the specialist on Tuesday and I now have to go through a whole load of tests and vaccines before the medication plan can start..... I have also been told that I wont (or highly unlikely) return to my substantive role, so now will be placed in the redeployment pool.

    Take care
