Neutral Runner - do I need to go to a running shop to get new trainers?

Have been running for years, the last few less so as I have been plagued by injury.

Have always got Adidas as these seem to have worked for me.  However the last few times they seem to fall apart at the front very quickly.

Am interested in trying something different but just wondering as I am a netural runner can I choose any neutral shoe or is it worth going to a running shop and getting advice.  My one reluctance in going to a running store is that the trainers tend to be around the £100 mark.

Thanks

Of course you can try any neutral shoe, however, they can differ hugely in width/drop/fit etc so it's better to be able to try on a few until you find what feels right for you.

I have quite a few pairs of neutral shoes but not Adidas as they don't fit me right.

You could do some research and order online, just be prepared to return them if they don't fit.   Some companies are more lenient about returns than others, only the manufacturers possibly would allow you to return after going for a run in them and most likely you would pay more buying from them anyway.

There are lot of bargains to be had now on the internet.

Please help - I've just joined the forums and want to post a new thread but can't see any button for that anywhere. I have confirmed my email and can reply on other threads (assuming you're reading this, that is) but completely lost on how or where I start a new one!!!!

    Sorry for hijacking this thread...

You can't start a new thread until you've done a certain number of postings to existing threads.   Sorry can't remember how many it has to be,  10 perhaps.   There are existing threads discussing this topic and new forumites, suggest you post on those threads.
