Increased my weekly.running distance recently and did a (for me) long fell run.
Am aged in early 50s.
Noticed that when I bend my left leg (loaded or unloaded) it makes a crackling sound. Every time. Stretching, walking, in the morning... Everything... It's still there. There is no pain. Seems to be coming from directly beneath the kneecap.
It was not doing this before.
I've completely stopped running for precisely a week now (aaagh!) and have been taking cod liver oil and turmeric. It's still doing it.
Given my age and hence increased risk of developing osteoarthritis should I lay off until it stops? Or?
Thank you!
