Thursday 31st August 2023 On our block all of the guys call her xxxxxxxx

Morning!

Lyrics: On our block all of the guys call her xxxxxxxx
'Cause her hair glows like the sun
And her eyes can light the skies

What: another half an hour or so

Why: will see how I feel when I get going

Any improvement, Chick?

Wonder how Chamolk is doing. And Emz!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

  • Morning

I was wondering that too Ale.

Sounds like a decent workout yesterday Wabo - well done.

I have experienced 40 degrees Pammie but it was a dry heat with a light wind and therefore bearable.

    What: yesterday's run today
Why: looked at a house yesterday and ended up visiting someone we know nearby and drinking beer on his terrace instead of running - oops.
Last hard: not getting too excited at the prospect of said house (would be a purchase rather than a rental)
    Last rest:  yesterday

Lyrics: no - struggling a bit at the moment!
  • Lyrics, no.
    Missing chick, emz , chamolk.
Another long day at work yesterday. Hopefully a short run today and and a longer one tomorrow as going to egilsau with a non running friend sat. Never been before, lots of island visits recently.
Trying to curb the enthusiasm of our new interim secretary who seems to be slotting me into all the vacant clinics...as a semi retired there's only so much work I want!

    Hazel - oooh housing news...exciting!
Ale - well done, not ideal conditions today

    What - half hour featuring 4 x 400s effort/400 steady
why - turn the legs over but not too dramatically
    last rest -16/08
last hard - that was tougher than it should have been...
    lyric - not so sure
yesterday was Duran Duran, Hungry like the wolf

    Afternoon!

Just back from my run; was a pleasant enough day today...until the last km when the heavens opened.

    What: just over 50 minutes

Why: turned out to be the week's MLR.

    Now to check August's figures...

Edit: 186.05km = 115.6 miles, one parkrun, 31 days run. Second highest month of the year after February. 200 km would be good in September, although must be careful with niggles: today was going to be shorter but include some quicker parts, but one hamstring was uncooperative.

  • Ooh, new house Hazel! hope it works out! would you still be near Berne?
Up and down the hill impeded by anouchy calf, something to do with first yoga session in a few weeks, oops!
Quite a nice sunny day here.
