You could try ironmanlive.com on the day, they normally have live updates on the race. Whether or not you can access chip times of individuals is doubtful though.
Other option is www.ironmanlanzarote.com
If i'm alive i'll text that big oaf Collier when I'm finished and he can post a message.
Thanks mate. All packed and ready. One more day's work, then it is down to Surrey tomorrow night for a 4am start for a Monarch Airlines special on Thursday morning.
Swim one lap of the course Thursday on arrival, then register at La Santa and drive the course to remind myself how easy the hills are. Friday, do nothing all day except rack the bike in the afternoon. Then hope my alarm goes off Saturday morning!
Hey Richard good luck!! How exciting! I'll try and check the weblinks if I can but if not, do let us all know how you got on somehow. Have a fantastic time!
Serpentine IM champ? Don't think so José, there's a couple of guys who are way out of my league hoping to finish top 3 in their age groups. I'll be very happy to finish within an hour of them. In fact, i'll be happy to finish at all!
You are right José. Around the El Golfo loop and up on Mirador del Rio the scenery is amazing, but there are also some pretty barren sections where you can just see lava for miles. And the only bars i'll be stopping for will be in gold wrappers and come in flavours like Apple and Cinnamon.
You bet Monique. I think our apartment is quite near The Spanking Monkey pub (classy) where we shall be downing many pints on Sunday to rehydrate and get ready for the La Santa Ironman party in the evening.
Don't trash the place Richard. And make sure you see if you can chat to Lisa (?) - she's Irish and in charge of the Fitness centre there. Say you need your running style analysed.
I had heard about the Nice rumour, definitely sign up for that if it goes ahead.
Right that's definitely it, no more computer for a few days. Have a good week/weekend everyone, thanks again for all the good wishes and i'll speak to you on the other side.

Can we follow your progress on line ?
(hopefully a bit better than Orange managed at the FLM !)

I thought attaching a motor would be against the rules.
still if it gets you ahead of Thomas Hellreigal who am I to complain.
good luck

((((((((Richard)))))))))
Hills? What hills?
xx
(I thought he said Monique Airlines then!)
Are they providing any tv coverage over the net? I watched Hawaii via the net last year...
(tee hee - Monique airlines, speedy, brightly coloured and plenty of cake - I like the sound of it !)
No wind is good news. Don't trust the cloudy thing though.

Sorry to be a dunce but I take it the swim is a sea swim? Is it likely to be quite flat?
And then are the bike and run courses hilly or not too bad?
The bike course is a one lap monster. 2500m of climbing, mostly into the hot wind.
The run course is along the beachfront, four very flat out and back loops, but very exposed to the afternoon sun.
Now, a good tip for that cycling, there is a bar in La Geria with its own vineyard, o)

I will also mention to her that you are selling everything you have and moving out there to be with her next week. That's right isn't it?
She is in the video of last year's IM as lovely part of the organisation. Ah, those eyes....

I do hope he'll be OK...
[pads off, worrying]
I think we can follow him here on : Go Ricky - Go Ricky
Kick off - or splash off (?) at 7am today !
Saturday.
