Helmet

Hi,

How can I know if my helmet has BTA's standards?

I don't like to be at race day and be told to get out because of my helmet.

I think you will find that most modern helmets comply - there should be a sticker inside which tells you which standard it complies with and then check that against the BTA recommendations.

    enjoy the downhill

I've been to the BTA's website and says that the helmet must be USA or UK standards.

Went later to the manufacturer's UK website and it says that all their helmets are USA and UK standards, including the Air wave model.

    Thanks guys

    according to Specialized:

All of our helmets comply to the CPSC standard, as required for all bike helmets sold in the United States. All models are tested in house as well as tested by a non-affiliated testing agency, Snell Memorial Foundation.

For more information on the Snell testing protocol, visit the Snell Memorial Foundation web site

For more information on the CPSC helmet standard, visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission web site
