Tooting Lido

Tooting Lido reopens to the public this weekend for us non-members.

Am planning to go at least one morning a week.

Any other forumites thinking of going?

  • I'm aiming to go 2 or 3 times a week before work. I just wish the weather was a bit better like last year.
  • could do - how big is it, what time does it open and how would i get there given that i commute in to kings cross?
  • 1000 yards, 7am (I think), Northern Line.
  • 100 yrds!

    opens at 6 I believe.

    you could cycle!
seriously the easiest way would probably be tube to tooting bec (northern line) then a 5 min bus
  • Opening Times

    everday 7:00 - 2:00
    May 29 September
    everyday 6:00 to 8:00

  • i'm 80% for tuesday
  • Freedom for tooting......

  • Yeah?

Well - come the revolution you'll be FIRST up against the wall!
  • anybody going tomorrow??
  • Gonna try and get there for 7.30, maybe see you there or the next tuesday
  • Brings back memories of 40 years ago walking from our house in Streatham Hill with my younger brother in school holidays to swim & generally muck about on the Common. Pleased to see the old place is very much still in use when other such facilities have been replaced by fancy leaisure centres where proper swimming is almost impossible.

sent my membership application, money and photos and haven't received yet anything back from them.

Should I go to the Lido and ask there?
  • So - was it nice?

I do remember a very amusing documentary on Tooting Lido once.
  • sorry caspar - was cycling/running until 10 last night and this morning i decided that staying in bed was the better part of valour
