Haven't run since last Tuesday, & plan to try again tomorrow night. Have a tennis match tonight but that doesn't involve much running! Both MrMac and I are warming to this one, well it is our local!
Joined the Road Runners club and read some of your directory Shades. Did you do the description for Dartmoor ('undulating or hilly, you choice')?? Hadn't realised there were so many 'different'races available. Oh and by the way... you are mad!!!!
Glad to hear you are now (both?) affiliated runners, think of all the money you'll save in entry fees!
The description is purely the race organisers' own words. For 2005 I am going to try and find more events in Scotland but I think I've already got all the marathons and ultras so may put a couple of halfs in.
That one looks a bit mad anyway! I'm in a very negative mood now about this race. My knees are as bad as ever after only one 3 miler, so I've given myself until the first week in July and if ther's no improvement I can forget it as I wouldn't have time to train. I'd decided I really wanted do run it too.
Sorry Shades, ironically we're heading that way the next week but the 7th is already booked. I did the 2 Bridges in 2002, when it still was 2 Bridges!!
Thinking fairly seriously about this. Hit a bit of a low with my running at the moment. Trinity's right, I must get lots of race entries in - that will make me feel better.
Hope that knee clears up soon, MrsMac. Unfortunately there's no hurrying these things. Would be good to see you NotB.
T Rex, you do run the Forth Bridge twice. Its meant to be a more scenic course this year, with some off-road. In my more positive moments I'm definately up for this one. Maybe this would be the one to get your running back on track. Has anyone used the camping facilities before, thought it would be a laugh! Shades, its more the right than the left. But I see the podiatrist again in two weeks so maybe he can help.
The podiatrist just gives me funny looks now! We've been looking at tents etc so might cheer myself up this weekend and splash out on one. Could camp out anyway, watch the race and join the party after (is that allowed?)
I think you'd have to let them know you wanted to use the camping facilities. Why not offer to marshall then you'd be well in with the organisers! Mr Mac not able to run it either?
Er Shades, I think I've got enough goals for one year already thanks. I was thinking of starting a training thread all of my own leading up to the Arizona 24 hour race i'm doing Dec 31st It seemed like a good idea, what do you think?
what, starting the thread or running the Arizona 24 hr?
Do start the thread though, would like to hear all about it. (Watch out for the Macs though, they'll enter the event straight after your first posting!!)

How are the knees?
I did think that you would probably be interested in this one as it's so close to home for you. 500 mile drive each way for me - I must be mad.

Bet your podiatrist will be thrilled when you tell him about the ultra(s)!
TR - you would enjoy this race, get that entry in, it will give you a goal to aim for.

The Macs are welcome to come along, I've already got William Sichel to do it you know. The more the merrier.
Awaiting details on your new thread.
