Adidas Flora London Half Marathon

Just wondered what the forum thought of the first Adidas Flora London Half Marathon which is going to be six weeks before the full marathon. It's limited to 10,000 runners at Silverstone on March the 3rd.
Will it be as Dave Bedford, Race Director, says:
"the perfect warm-up both for those embarking on the full distance six weeks later in London and give those unlucky enough not to get into the Marathon a feel for the Flora London Marathon experience" ???

Think again me thinks....
Why do they not have the race on the same day and start the half marathon at the half way mark at the same time as the full marathon starts at Greenwich!!!!
They would perhaps have to reorganise the lorries on the mall and the family reunion bit but that might be an improvement. And it they are offering a half marathon, why not a quarter as well?
Interesting concept. I think I need some help fathoming this one out....Its 13.1 not 26.2. Its at a venue 300 miles away from the Cutty Sark. The field is one-quarter. Its sponsored by Adidas. Ahhh........gottit, I know what he is getting at! Theres a limit of 10,000....we will all again have to wait months in anticipation with minimum chance of being accepted ;-)

A London Half..great, but in London, please.
Good idea though, I like the idea of it being available for the build up to London, although then again, it probably wouldn't be good for a fast time style of training run.
Also entries are being taken on a first come first served basis so the only reason for not getting in will be delaying sending an entry.
Still not going to bother though, I'll run Hasting's instead a couple of weeks later!!
There are no issues with road access as John says. 10,000 runners will not generate anything like the volumes for the Grand Prix, so I don't think this should be an issue.
I am going to run the Daffodil Run at Castle Ashby on the same day instead. A nicer course and for a better cause.
73.4 + 26.6 ( alittle over a marathon) = 100
The increase in miles by the same % for the marathon distance is 6.97 miles.
Therefore, 26.2 + 6.97 = just a tad over 33 miles.
Also, remaining in tounge in cheek mode. I thought a few weeks before the big day training marathoners were supposed to be doing 20-22 miles not 13.1's.
I'm not knocking the idea of a half, it would be great. I just think doing it as they are they are trying to 'live' of a reputation rather than create a new one.
Silverstone Half. That has a good ring to it as well.
I'd rather they launched another marathon in the autumn (see my rant elsewhere!).
But surely if they want to use "London" in the title, it has to be in London?? That's just daft.

No one got back to me when I originally asked this question so I went to the website bugs section but basically you do it like this - without the spaces after the ' though (if I put spaces in, it will show it as a link and therefore be no help at all
