I took up running in the spring and as I've taken a break since the start of September due to injury I've no idea about the do's and don'ts of running in the dark.
During the summer I did my training either in a local forest or around the local park but neither of them seem an attractive option in the dark.
What do you lot do?

There was another thread recently on this I'll go and have a look for it, somebody even suggested wearing a lamp on their head!
I have got myself an horrendously bright yellow running jacket - can see me for miles now. I guess it is safest to be seen well. We were driving home the other day, in pitch dark, and lo and behold - a mad man running in blue/black gear. Didn't see him till we had got level (he was on pavement but that isn't the point really is it?)
Basically, where I am it can get dark very quickly, so now if I go out in the afternoon I wear my coat. Within 5 minutes it had got considerably darker last week, and I was quite exposed in the middle of nowhere. Shall have to revise my routes and stick to the main roads now.
Take care all
