Morning, was just trying to think of a title myself, but you beat me to it! I'm dashing around getting ready for my 10k this morning, but thought I'd pop in. Hope we're all going to be watching the marathon later on!
By missing the rowing you probably saved yourself the embarrassment of bawling your eyes out in front of the telly, which is what happened to me and just about everyone I've spoken to.
I'm hoping to do 6 miles later today, but off for a swim first. I did a 26 mile bike ride yesterday - can't imaging running that distance ...
morning plodders, trying to summon up enthusiasm to go for short plod today, off to corfu tomorrow and so will give plodding a miss for a week. Feel i should be able to manage 4 miles , if Paula can run at the speed she does for 26 of the little blighters! hope all racing plodders have good days and everyone else has a good day too!
Ta for the encouragement, folks, the 10k was ace, and despite the heat I beat my PB by 5 whole minutes! Am now cooking bacon for a HUGE bacon sandwich as a reward.
Instead of a t-shirt, I got a towel & some flowers for finishing. Makes a change!
Way to go Quimby !!! Huge congratulations, that's 30 seconds per km off your previous best. You must be as high as a kite. You deserve that sandwich.
Norma, you're probably right. I got back to the car-park yesterday and put Radio 5 Live on to find out if Pinsent et al had done the business. Was surprised to here music not sports talk, then realised it was the National Anthem. I felt a tingle of emotion then, I suspect had I seen the ceremony I may have shed a tear or two.

Which 10k are you doing? GOOD LUCK!
Will definitely be watching the marathon later on - I've booked my spot in front of the telly.

Go any other plodders today?
Rest day today for me after a good 9 miler yesterday morning. Missed the boys getting their gold as a result, I will NOT miss Paula.

Now somewhat bloaty after mega bacon butty, but I'm sure my post-race metabolism can cope with it ;-)
Bacon sandwich definitely well deserved.
My 6 mile plod ended up being about 4 miles, because my shins hurt so much. I'm not convinced that I'm in the right shoes...
and glad you enjoyed the well deserved sarnie
GO PAULA, LIZ AND TRACEY!!!
we all have carp plods now and then
She should have trained on the hills I trekked up and down on Thursday.
I fear if Paula read that message, she would not laugh as much as I did.
