They are truly awful. I look like a whale in one and the finish line picture is possibly the least flattering shot I have ever seen of myself - and believe me there is a great deal of competition for that honour.
GMAC, Seeing as you ask and for those of you that are interested, I am organising a six mile multi-terrain race over one of my off-road routes around the villages of Shaw&Whitley, which are near Melksham in Wiltshire.
LLL and I have run the course and he liked it so much that he was one of my first entrants. If you fancy giving it a go on Saturday 14th May at 14:00 then entry forms and more info is available from the Avon Valley Runners website or of course online from Runners World events system.
The race is being held as part of our village fete so there will be plenty to do apart from running and if your little ones fancy some exercise then we are holding a "Stampedelite" run around the playing field before the main event.
Entries for the "Stampede" will close on 30th April and there will be no entries allowed on the day.
Woo Hoo! After my 1:47:11 watch time (which if anyone was interested eas exactly the same time as my last PB in Bristol Hm Last Year) My chip time puts me at 1:47:08... so I got a PB after all...Just! )
Thanks R.D. and Tinribs, I always like to think I have moved forward, even if it's just a little at a time. Yep No races 'till Frenchay for me, so I am gonna concentrate on my Speedwork and make my "efforts", the drag hill on my 7 miler circuit. HR 199 comming up OMG!
Thank you glugg. Have you come to your senses now and stopped talking about retiring form running (especially with the promise of a drink of bitter with me?!)
Feeling much better now thanks, stopped sulking and started running. 18 miles tomorrow training for Belfast marathon in May. Looking forward to that pint!.
Glugg-why am I not surprised that you are doing a marathon in Belfast!! Good luck with your long run. I haven't run since Bath half, thought it was about time I had a rest as I haven't had a break since I started running last May. Hubby and I going to a party in Bridgend tonight and staying overnight so if I'm not too hungover and manage to get up earlyish might go out for an hour there. Any plans to do any races in south wales?
Had a great weekend at the Cardiff half last year so I might do that again. Enjoy your party, have one for me, its back to the pasta and early nights for me (
18 mile Sunday went OK Should be good for Belfast then definetly doing Cardiff half again. Long weekend in caravan at Sofia Gardens with my brother. Mmmm Brains beer!.:o)
Looks like the photos have gone again. I've tried the ".co.za" version of the website and it just redirects to the homepage of .net one where there is only a listing for Bath Marathon 2004.

I don't think I'll be purchasing these!
