  • It's amazing that this filled up so quickly (just shows how many nutters there are out there!), and equally amazing that I was organised enough to register early. I agree with the earlier point about not giving priority to last year's peeps - it seems to be the wrong way round.
  • I'm in favour of priority applications because (apart from IAJ) it rewards loyalty to those who support the event year after year. Also, after a year like 2004 where competitors may not feel the race represented the best available value for money, this is an opportunity to even things up.

But then again, I have managed to book the Hilton for 1 night.

However, might change it 2 if there's a bit booze up on the Sunday!
  • Deffo Sunday night booze up. Has to be done. Lots of lovely local ale to sample which I wasn't able to do much of last year as I had to catch a train!

  • I was thinking of staying til Monday as the idea of driving home on a busy Sunday eve did NOT appeal. We have a babysitter too :-)
    Parteee!!!!!

Yeap - have changed my reservation to include Sunday night too!!
  • Okay time to add me to the list (first half marathon). Is sub 2 hours too much to ask of someone who's just run the GSR in 1:38?

  • with 5 months to go and only 30 secs a mile to improve by, I recon you have a pretty good chance. <says JJ who has nearly 3 min a mile to improve by :-)>
  • Good use of the word "only" there JJ!

3 mins is quite some challenge - good luck to you!

  • Ah... my body has done a 2:15 half in the past, it just needs reminding :-)
  • WrintyWrinty ✭✭✭
My mind has gone under 65 minutes for the Half in the past, it is just a pity my body does not know how to do it:-)
  • I'd be pleased with under 150mins on my first, as I did my last 10k at Swansea Bay in 66mins.

Would love to stay the weekend but only an hours drive away and off to new york with girlfriends in April. Don't think my hubby would appreciate me being away another weekend, and saving all my cash for new york so can't afford to bring him! (Did you see the limit is only £145 for duty free purchases from out of europe? Think I'll be taking an empty suitcase out, have a shopping spree on first day, wear the clothes for the long weekend so they come back dirty!)
  • There's no limits on how much you can spend in the excellent shops in Bath on the Saturday. If you start off by saying that you haven't spent £300+ on air fares then you are quids in already.

Obviously this is logic that only a woman could understand. It beats me :-0

  • Got on line entry in at 14.01 on the day that they closed entries so hope that I'm in
  • If you all give it a day or so for them to process everything, you can check whether you are definitely in by searching their website. It even gives your race number.

I shalln't demonstrate my ignorance by failing to do a link.

    Oh go on then...
    Am I in? link page

What if the money has been taken from my credit card but I don't appear to be on the list?
  • mitten, from what I can see the list was last updated on 9th Oct, so if you entered on 12th, it wouldn't show yet...

  • Lots of Serpies entered and a lot of Hogweeds as well considering they have their own event the same day.
  • I've looked under the M's and can't find any Mittens (sorry)

Race Director can you answer a query, a friend of mine entered last year but had to withdraw so he says he was given a guaranteed entry. However he hasn't got around to entering yet, how long does this guarantee go on for. I told him to sort it but admin aint his forte.
  • Mitten - As far as confirming on-line entries is concerned if your payment was made before midnight on Tues evening 13th Oct you are in, after that you will be in the ballot. We have confirmed on-line entries up to 9th October on our successful applicants list on the event website. We are waiting on a download from our server for further on-line entries up to 13th, these will be posted on receipt, but our techie is moving offices this weekend !
We have only just started to process postal applications, they take much longer, so don't panic.
Head Gone - tell your friend we will honour his guaranteed place until the end of Oct.
  • Thanks RD I have passed that info on.
  • I am In , 2nd half so hoping to improve on the 1.55 I ran at Bristol.

  • Am feeling a little more positive about my ability to complete this after running the cabbage patch yesterday.
  • Was the Cabbage Patch good? I ran it last year and it was fabulous - one of my all time favourites!
  • Yeah it was great! Was worried because id never run that far before, but i really enjoyed it, although the last mile was a killer.
  • Yes I seem to remember the last bit seemed to go on round lots of corners...and it was a long walk back to the pub!

If you can do ten you'll be fine in Bath.
  • Thats what Im hoping Birdiepie!

Hi Birdypie. Good on yer with the CP, skipp, nice race wasn't it?

Could have sworn I posted something on here a couple of hours ago. Anyway it looks like I've got a Bath place now but I may have to use it as a fast training run rather than an out'n'out race what with a couple of monster pre-FLM long runs the weekends before and after. I guess this goes for lots of us?
