I can't help but to have noticed the powerful effects of Guinness on the improved race times posted by some forumites. I wonder if I should include this in the training programme?
Me and the family are down the Docks area too, and HUNGRY.
I am very confused now! The other thread said PoW. I am happy for post race beers in the Big Sleep cos its where I am staying and I don't have so far to stagger then.
This is a purely selfish reason but I am happy to stick with it!
I can't see me getting near a bar before about 4-5ish wherever we end up.
see you at valentinos, then? I'll be there about 7ish trains permitting, so save me some spaghetti. If there's going to be a crowd of us, should we attempt to book or is that too organised?
OK,LOOK YOU LOT.....prince of wales pub(where the bl**dy hell is it any way)untill 6 pm ,then if anybody wants pasta,valentinos,6.30pm for 7 pm,then if anyone needs, sorry wants a drink, prince of wales ORthe big sleep after say 8.30pm ish.right, whoever is on either tread i dont care, but please keep it simple as most of us dont A. know the faces of most of you. B. dont know any where in cardiff, and C.just want to meet, eat ,drink and run a marathon with friendly like minded peeps with as little effort as possible sorry rant over, but its getting close now peeps and after driving all that way after work i just want a good evening out...... if anyone else knows a better place then great lets do it as ive not even been to cardiff for years.
Sorry Smitch I meant 7ish on the Saturday, don't mind where as long as there are actually people there! I think one of Birdies earlier posts has a link to valentinos which will tell us where it is.
Post mara I have to go home by train at 4pm so drinking time may be limited by slow running - so will vote for whichever pub is nearest the station!

I did find a nice pasta place down on the 'harbour'...shall I dig out the link? Early would be good though given the inhumane start time...

This thread WILL stay on the first page!!
Don't forget there's also a meet after the event in the Prince of Wales pub near the railway station. More info on the Cardiff thread.
Multi's getting the first round in! (Water all round then...)
one glass with lots of straws
That'll be some BIG pizza then.

sorry...not techno savvy enough to do the clever link thing but this was the place my little possee was looking at....
I have you know that extra straws cost money, so either bring your own or share!!
I think not! (bit like Edgar Davids i.e. not kicking either!)
i haven't booked a hotel - any suggestions?
i haven't done any marathon training or tapering, but i reckon i can probably do it in around 3:30 - is anybody aiming for this time, or thereabouts?
i received a race number but no instructions - do we just turn up at the start?
well you said this was the 'information thread'!!
what is it???
me and Petal are staying with a mate in Cardiff Bay so will be close by, so could get along for a shandy or 12.......

Can we start at Big Sleep and crawl down to PoW?!
Does anyone know where that is?
I vote to start the post marathon drinking festivities at the Big Sleep, then we can move on....?
