Hi Deidre! Welcome to the thread When is your next Marathon?
Tracey, my half is 27 Oct so loads of time to get a few more runs in, although back in US now, temps in the low/mid 30's so may struggle a bit with the heat/humidity, I think there will be some early mornings happening!
I am now in taper mode for Loch Ness. Its going to be a slow one but I don't care - I will be there and that is the main thing
Do you remember Mokina who used to come on here a couple of years back? She moved back to Italy about three and a half years ago. She is over for a few days and I met her for lunch today She looks great and is still running Hopefully I am going to visit her next year She said to say hi to you all It was lovely to catch up with her; we think it could be as long as 5 years ago that we went for lunch Where does the time go?
I'm in but then that's because I deferred this year. Just have to stay fit and well now!
I did Loch Ness on Sunday It was feppin hard as my back decided to go again between 13 and 14m. But my osteopath has said that I need to keep moving so I did lol! It was reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaallllllllllly slow - 5.55.22 - but I did it That's my comeback cherry popped Now tapering for Yorkshire on 20th October
I am here, struggling with tiredness and knowing what tI do now. I wanted on. More 20 miler before the 20th for confidence but not sure I can fit it in now. Not sure if just to focus on shorter faster runs or what really!
No more long runs!!!!! You should be tapering towards the big day now. Just concentrate on keeping your legs moving and staying injury free. With two weeks to go, there isn't much point in speed work either as you won't get that much benefit and tbh I get worried about injury so I am ultra cautious lol!
Ok no more long runs or speed work! I know it is psychological but I am doing Abingdon, with fingers crossed for sub 5 hours as that is the cut off point!
I've known people finish outside the 5 hour cut off before at Abingdon AT so unless they have tightened it up, I reckon you should be ok. Mind you, go for 5 hours anyway

That's right Tracey
I did a 20mile run at the weekend! I actually enjoyed it, apart from the hangover part...
looking forward to trying another 20mile without hangover to see how much easier it will be!
always trying - well done on your 20 miles
Thank you Tracey G.
i was amazed to find my legs disn't hurt after xxx
Always trying...Well done
Well another rejection mag for me so no VLM next year
Cinders - I go my reject mag too But I do have a GB place with Anthony Nolan
Rejection here too! Think it is a shame they took away the guaranteed places for those that had requested for long enough.
however I will hopefully be doing a sub 5 hour autumn marathon!!
Yes, it's a shame about the 5 year thing. Think I'm on about 5 or 6 now.
I'm in but then that's because I deferred this year. Just have to stay fit and well now!
