Jackie, you're doing really well with all that training. Well done. C'mon, admit it though, your mate sounds great. I wish I had someone like her to encourage me to enter the marathon and then support me in all my training, even if it is just from afar. I bet she's not just lying in bed and drinking too much - I reckon she's working really hard towards getting a PB in the Reading half - are you doing that race? And to have run three marathons before is such an amazing achievement.
Was going great (did the Dartford 10 in 1 30 - and it was my first 10m), but was running yesterday in the freezing cold and started to get knee pain (especially after I stopped running and walk DOWN stairs?!) Still a bit sore today so having a day off. Just getting a bit nervous that I've set myself back in my training schedule - was meant to be doing my first 12 miles this weekend, and first 1/2 marathon a week on Sunday (Watford - anyone done this?) Any advice - much appreciated...
Just signed up for it as Paris preparation. Did my longest-ever run on Sunday (about 22km), now I just need to work my backside off to be ready for another 10k or so by the middle of March...
Personally I think it's quite nice to see a race starting in the afternoon. I was going to do the Worthing 20 miler, but it wasn't possible to get there on public transport for a 9am start on a sunday!
I'm doing this one as prep for Madrid. I've done that Hillingdon 5 before so I'm assuming it's just 4 laps of that. You got a nice medal at the end of that one as well so I'm hoping that this one will be even better although maybe not four times better.
if you can get to ruislip station then get the H13 bus towards ruislip lido or its a 1.5mile warm up run!! The central line is also close (and on the course) but about a 2mile warm up run to start line
can anyone tell me what the slowest time is as im first time FLM and this fits into my schedule perfectly however worried everyone will have gone home by the time i get round i ran 13 1/3 miles in 2hrs 19mins so thinking it will will take me nearly 4 hours
Just signed up for this as a training run for Paris. Those of you in earlier comments who have stated that you are waiting for numbers etc I was told that an email will be sent with the number "shortly" but bibs collected on the day.
Thanks GM. I know GuyW from the Paris thread. What sort of time are you looking for in Paris. I seem to be revising my times by the day. Aim for me is a sub 3.30 just not sure how sub!! Guess that depends on the training over the next 7 weeks.

Liz Ford is my mate! You can tell it's written from someone past their best.
I'm sure by lying in bed and drinking too much will guarantee a Reading PB )
Any advice - much appreciated...
Flipper- yeah in her dreams she will get a Reading PB the fat slob!!
Lizzie - you smell!
Am thinking might do this as I live in north london.
does anyone know if is it near ruislip station?? or the best way to get there?
4 laps sounds tough but i do like the idea of an afternoon run..
