Ha Ha,

First post of the day. I've been awake since 3:30am - a mosquito got into the room and had to chase it for half an hour.

I had a major panic on Saturday looking for my passport. I didn't find it till yesterday morining after I'd spent hours turning the house upside down. So if you're as disorganized as me check your passport now - it might not be where you think it is.

Off for a little run now.

They had the sheep sleeping bag thing last time in was at a hostel in Switzerland.... but admittedly now I think about it that was about 10 years ago.

I had a nightmare last night about being late... it wasnt my fault though, two of my friends were faffing about.

I don't think it is de rigeur to use sheet sleeping bags in continental hostels - they are a tad different to the UK - but it's worth having one to hand just in case..........a better bet (and a bloody good investment imho) is to get a Silkie sleeping bag liner - is made of silk, very light, warm and packs down to nothing (size of a fist)..........have used these camping and in mountain huts (you really do wonder about the hygiene in some of those) and am taking to Zurich as I may sleep outside the Minibago if it's too hot..........

I stayed in the youth hostel in berlin at the w/e
they provide fitted sheets, fluffy pillows and quilts and covers to put over them
very civilised

Spenser Smith was 'apparently' dq'd a few weeks ago in a race for 'discarding equipment' this is heresay and I read it in 220 so make your own conclusions. I also feel that the pro's are watched a lot more than the age groupers but I would hate someone to be dq'd cos I said take a waterproof and throw it at Jj if the suns out.

Aaah - I read that Spencers hat had blown off on the run, and as he didn't go back to retrieve it, he was DQ'd.

I only hope Lance doesn't have to go back and fetch the 60 waterbottles he's already lobbed into hedges from the first week of the tour.
