Hi. I ran one of their events this summer and it was great...meant to be 25 miles but we got lost (we always do, runners always do) and did 28.5 instead!!!
The food at the checkpoint had to be seen to be believed - it was a bloody banquet and they really look after you....we wanted to dash off to see Paula in Athens (on the TV!) and they loaded our arms full of sarnies and quiche and salad before letting us leave :-)
Highly recommend any of the trail events that are happy to allow runners - great fun, great atmosphere, non competitive and use the old grey matter as well to find the route!!
Awww Spud - make sure you eat plenty at the checkpoint then!!!
We finally swallowed pride and knocked on doors asking for help to find the next village and ran on the country roads a bit til we picked up the route again!! Next time I will at least take a copy of the relevant road atlas if I don't have the OS map :-)
At least with my Garmin I knew just how far we'd run - guess that makes us ultra runners ;-)

I did this last year with Rabbs, Lorna and Karen. Great event and boy, it was cold! If you'd like to see pics of the event, go here
Spud, hope to be doing it for sure....they do tend to be a bit sparse of runners though so following someone who is less likely to get lost is not a good idea!!
Having said that I'm sure we can get enough runners to have a few groups go at different paces??
Comments
do you know where i can get entries from?
cheers

i'm just looking for runs to get time on my feet, i'm a lazy trainer so unless there is a race i won't get out of bed to train!

I'd think about this one, but I'm probably not going to be back up to the mileage by then.
Wait a minute, i will put an entry form here.
He will send you an entry form to download.

I am worried now. I can get lost anywhere and don't get on with maps. Is it easy to find slow peeps to run with in this event?
