Hi guy's and girls,
I'm attempting the Lands End to John O Groats record of 9 days 2 hours and 26 mins in June 2005 and could do with some 24 hour races as part of my preperation for this, does anybody know of and races before june 2005 i could take part in?
Thanks

any suggestions welcome
Aw
wonder when that danish one is...?
Andy-Does it have to be a 24 hour race? You could find some ultras and do a long run before and after. Hasn't somebody recently made an attempt on the LE2JOG record?

I don't know of any others before Apeldoorn in May but I know they're out there.
You might try looking at the 100km association website, that has an international calender.

See you in Phoenix?
One more thought-try the Long Distance Walkers Association. Their longer challange events would suit. I know Richard Brown who held the record before Andy Rivett got it started his ultra race walking career by doing their events.
Cheers,

The record is currently held by andy rivett at 9 days 2 hours and 26 mins, i'm planning my attack for about 8 and a half days which should put it out of reach for a while which would be nice!!
Tim, as for pheonix it may be a bit short notice as i've stretched my holiday limits already this year!! if i do i will let you know.
Aw
I'm sort of hoping that they'll reinstate it sometime. It used to be the late May bank holiday weekend.
i will have to put my thinking cap on and get back to you all.
Andy
i'm hoping national press will take it on, and i have a friend at running fitness who will put something in there magazine.
but i will keep posting my progress
thanks for your support
