  • Aha, a list at last.

Mmm, 3:30...I doubt it. I have given up trying, I managed 3:37 at Edinburgh (with THAT hill). Although if the winter goes well I may give it a try.
  • hey 90 mins- I'm the one who wants pacing and lots of encouragement to stay with the pace lol

3:37 is a great time Steady sounds as if 3.30 is a real possibility you know.
  • Have we got a date for this race?
  • yes it's on the top of the list :-)

Hmmm.... I was thinking of not doing this one, but seeing my name on a list makes me want to do it!!!!

I have a half 2 weeks before this one... that I think I will be taking as an enjoyable run rather than racing, so perhaps this one could be a PB attempt....

That said there is a 10 mile race in Beds that I might do that is the same day as this one.....

Given my lack of commitment to this one at the mo. I am shifting my name down (and bringing the list onto this page too..)

Was thinking about the hogweed one but there is a hilly one very local to me in Blackwood so I think I am going to do that one to minimise the travelling and to support the local clubs. I was toying with doing Bath for a PB attempt too but the localness was just too tempting!

  • OK, I'll get all decisive for a moment & say I'l do this for certain. Also move my place in the list, behind my pacer...

  • lol 90 mins whose pacing who?

Judging from your great Cheddar run I'm going to have to put in some extra miles to have any sort of chance of keeping up with you.
I must admit though, it would be great to run the race with a partner, mainly for the support and opportunity to pull each other through the tough spots.

Glad to see you've decided to go for this marathon.

Hi to Rich too - great pics

As this event is 2 weeks before London, Hilly will probably run the half as part of her taper.
  • There's nothing like a list to inspire commitment - Yes, I am in.

Also notice that there is the Duchy Marathon - with a 20 mile option 3 weeks before, a good last long session and the Bideford Half a week before that.

A long distance notice I know, but for those of you, with young children, there is a playtime magic play place a few minutes from the start/ finish, where your kids can play havoc with mine, whilst we all do our thing.

  • YL - Do you think hilly will be doing her half at marathon pace? Actually that's still a daft quest, her MP is too fast!
  • I'm pretty sure that is her plan in which case we may see a glimpse of her in the distance!
  • Hi Rich. Hope you're okay. Hope to meet up with you again soon.

Better put myself on the list:

  • But hilly, you were experimenting with (legal) performance unenhancing substances...

Also my best distance is 10 miles, while your best pb must be Cardiff?

Are you any good at 10K? I cannot seem to get below 43 minutes...
  • Blimey Rich & YL. After I've finished the half I might just have enough time for quick shower and then get back out to watch you finished the marathon! Puts it in perspective doesn't it?

  • Ah, but I could well be deluding myself Val!! Dunno about YL tho . .
  • Reckon YL is easily good for sub 3:30; put me down for 3:30 as well for now (why am I going for a PW?)

I want to do this one, Bath, Bristol, Plymouth, Stroud and Cheddar.
