Tracey G the date is not set yet for next years duathlon but keep an eye on our website www.thanetroadrunners.org.uk for details its usually early January.
I appologise its probably my fault your husband is interested in this event i was chatting to him while we were running the last part of the fun run with your Son (I hope he is ok after his fall)I was the one carrying the sign back from the turn round point but he did beat me back in the end.
Mark, my husband cycles to work every day, from Dagenham to Poplar. He did the London Triathlon with a team from work, he used to run for school cross country. We both want to do a duathlon, but I do not think my bum would like off road stuff. Last year we went for a six mile run together, and he could not get out of bed the next day, he did have the wrong shoes on thou. After that he went and did the six miles again and did it in 45mins.
He works for Docklands Light Railway and his rosta does not go past Christmas.
Those flapjacks were worth the 200 miles drive, can we have them at the 10 mile run.
Tracey G you should both give it a go its a great event and because its usually so wet and muddy the cross country cycle wont cause too much pain in the bum dept. And the cross country run is totaly mad through the Knee deep mud in the dykes.
Im not sure if there is a thread running on it yet if not I'll start one.
And yes the flapkacks where yummy poor DB didn't get one.
Corridore yes sounds a good idea mate I need to practice on the bike big time Cant let Jnr beat me next year as its just about the only event in which im current foster family champion (excluding the events she's still to young to enter)
Hope you got your trophies home safely last night and jax has been instructed in the correct polishing cloth to use !! (am I brave or what??)
Im off now to start a Thanet duathlon 2006 thread.
Half results now up if anyone is interested. Also Excel versions of the Marathon results. The rtf version of the marathon results shows the people who dropped down to the half distance at the end of the document with their times.
Morning all, not posting much , cos my home pc has broken down, have popped into work just have a quick check on the latest news.
Thank you to everyone involved with this race, it was brilliant.
Hiyah Hunterway and Tracey, I got things totally wrong and went out far to fast and by half way was struggling badly, I very nearly stopped !!! also the heat effected me badly. Anyway I did finish and did it in 4:24, not the sub 4 I had hoped for and know I can do, but I've only got myself to blame and will know better next time !!! Well done to everyone else on their runs, and it was nice to meet some more forumites.
Hi guys just a quick note I have just had am E-mail from our sponsors of this event it seems that the battery failed on their camera and they are desperate for any photos of the event to put on their website can anyone help please?
HI guys I know most of you have forgotten all about this event with the FLM entries now being announced but
WE NEED YOUR HELP !!
This race along with the 1/2 is in very real danger of being cancelled next year. Dave and I have had to stand down as organisers. so we need YOUR HELP is there anyone out there who would be able to take on race director/organisor or marshall co-ordinator etc etc. You will not be on your own as we will be willing to assist you, we have a course and the sponsors are keen to stay involved.
We have written to all the clubs in Kent asking for help but as yet have had no response.
If you can help please E-mail either Dave or me
IF NO ONE COMES FORWARD THE RACE WILL BE CANCELLED which is a shame as it is at present the only marathon in Kent
Footsteps international a charity in Orpington Kent organised a marathon this year for charity and we would like to do the same again next year. Are you asking for the Kent Marathon to be hosted (anywhere in Kent) or are you asking for people in Thanet?
Ashley I would like to keep it in Thanet but if that cant be done then I guess any Kent based Marathon would be better than none and you could apply to Kent AAA to host the Kent Champs. If it was outside Thanet in know our sponsors would not be interested.
Ashley We have had a reply from Sittingbourne striders they are having a meeting tuesday and will discurr possible helping us. we have a meeting Wednesdsy at which we will have to make a decision I will let you know.
Mark, have my fingers crossed for you. I really enjoyed the half marathon, even thou it was very hot. My kids enjoyed the fun run, even when Andre fell over after a 100 metres.
Looking forward to Thanet 10 Miles, might see you there.
GREAT NEWS race saved at last nights meeting yipee!!! we have an organising committee for next years event so put it in your race diary now SEPTEMBER 3rd.
Tracey will definitely see you at the ten as im marshalling not sure where yet but will let you know and give you a cheer as you pass.

Are you instigating a challenge here? Are we putting the value of a decent bottle of red on this?
We should repair to the Duathlon thread...
