Q. Should I run competitions with a cold/chest infection (ps i has asthma...)?
The event is me 1st x-country race for me new club (Liverpool Harriers) and I really want to run-but dont want to come last/die doing it/be sick on a marshal etc
What thinks u peeps???- u all seem 2 have had one. (a cold -not a x-country race, obviousley..)
Im in Liverpool next weekend and am looking for a couple of runs for Sat (Maybe 10 miles) and Sun (maybe 15 miles). Ive already got 1 goodun for Sat am through Sefton Pk./Aigberth etc..
Your all welcome to join me for the 15 on Sunday if you would like. I hope to do it at 7:30 min mile pace (ish)! Any Clubs do a long Sunday run perhaps??
Only just off to work now Cath. How lazy is that!! Had a rubbish sess at the club last night. Have a look on the Helsby thread.
Ron, I'm hoping to get out and do 10 on Saturday morning with Viking but you're going to be way to quick for us. Jakesy and NRK will be along later (when they've managed to get out of bed). They may be game for a run.
Unless you're really serious about running and exercise, I think a rest day or two a week is always a good idea. I never do 2 hard days on the trot anymore. I never run two days on the trot anymore. I run Tuesdays, Thursdays and either Sat/Sun. That's it.
Just last night was so crap and it felt difficult and it's not been like that for a very long time. I know I been ill and stuff but even so, I think I'd like to get my mileage up before March. I'm not going tonight anyway - much as there is a completely irrational urge to do so.
I know, I know! I'm 'trying' to be sensible. Training schedule I'm using has four sessions a week (which is one up on my usual 3 anyway) Tues, Thurs, Sat & Sun.
It was the Sat & Sun I was thinking about see. I'll see how it goes. It's supposed to be an easy session Saturday and then long run Sunday (which is 10K this week)
Just found this thread also, I don't read or post here that much, but will try to. I'd be up for a run sometime, but Ron's 15 miles at 7:30 sounds a bit tough. Enjoy it anyway!
Jusy got back from the doc.'s worst fears confirmed - no competition on Satdy....very sad now..sniff sniff..but looking forward to watching crap telly ALL weekend now and drowning me sorrows in a vat (that's a big barrel-nothing to do with tax )of alcahol.
All welcome to join me in a metaforical toast I'll break out the new posh goblets and glasses

In fact, think I finish at lunchtime today so am going home, back to bed. Very tired this morning and that's with 7 hours kip.
Anyway, you lot...
Does anyone train everyday..? I'm wondering about it..? Alternating an easy day with a hard day..? What do you lot think..?

I shall be joining you for a cyber drink at the weekend. What day/time?
I think around noon on the Saturday.
I, of course, will be mostly wearing my pyjama's and sipping (see spilling) mint julips and possibly pimms-although it is a trifle early for pimms.
Tally Ho
Has anyone got a jolly hocky stick for me to wave??
