Sounds like a good one, but assuming you've parked in Warwick is there any form of transport back from Kenilworth? I don't much fancy turning round and running back!!
Hi there Wombat Boy. This my local run and I loved it last year. Fortunately for me half my family runs this and we have enough hangers on (wives etc) not to have to worry about transport back, so I can't help you there I'm afraid.
I can tell you that. It starts in St Nicholas Park, gioes up Coventry road then on to Leek wooton, left past the church and police headquarters, on to Rouncil lane, then interminably right round the outside of the Estate until you get to the castle.
Cheers for the route. I've lived in Rugby for about a year now but I'm originally from Preston, so I'm just learning the area really.
I've run for nearly 20 years now but never in a race so it will be interesting to see what time I do it in, and go from there. My weekly runs are rougly 8k, 8k, 4k, 12k so I should be able to manage the distance ok.
You sound like you will do fine. It was my first race for 25 years last year. Don't be influenced by those running around you, run your own pace and you'll have fun.
The first half or more is through countryside, and Leek Wooton is an attractive village (although you have to run up a long steady hill to get to it).
When you reach Kenilworth you are diverted through a long housing estate for a good 4km. This has an unfortunate psychological effect on some, who think they must be near the end cos they have passsd the Kenilworth sign! Some of my friends still swear about it...
Come on folks, don't be shy, add your number to the list and have another supporter on the day!

BTW I am in the picture on the front of the website - sadly only as one of the indistinct blobs behind the group in the foreground, but I know I did most of the race last year in the conmpany of those runners!
RC - don't think I'm stalking, but this was a definite on my list ages ago. Remember the people we were speaking to after Not the Roman IX - they say it's a really nice event. Hope I'll see you there.
UM - yeah, yeah, you're stalking me alright ;-) and there was me getting paranoid that it was the other way round ;-) We just have great taste eh, can't be helped :-)
This year I plan to be better organised so that I'm not forced to 'do a Paula' like last year. (apologies to the owner of the garden hedge in Kenilworth)

If I can find anything out I will post back.
They provide a service to take your kit from the start to the finish and run coaches back to the start. Used the service last year and worked fine.
The application form usually gives you the option to request this.
Hope this helps.
If thats the case, i'll be in for this one!!
YOu can down load forms from ‹a href="http://www.twocastlesrun.org.uk/"› here ‹/a›.
I was out there Clauds, in the heat - it was first 10k for many years. How did you do?
Try this one .
still gonna do it though!
Wombat Boy, if last year is anything to go by 9am was a good time to start. It was very hot as it was, any later and we would have been cooked!
I have my number back, so I will start the participant list:

I had a look on the website, is there any way to find out the route?
You get full details with your number.
Are you local Guy?

I'm not looking to do anything spectacular, I shall just run at the same pace I do my 8k and 12k runs and see what time I get there.
Just got my number back, I am 371. Say hello if you see me.

Prue and Juicer - hope to see you too!
I'll be there at the back somewhere.

Where are you based?
Do I see you out running hereabouts?
My running is restricted to one or two a week as I'm trying to be a Triathlete these days.
I live pretty close to the start line though.
Did you do the regency run?
BTW, don't worry about the hedge, you weren't the only one on the day!
BTW I'm hoping to break 50mins for the 2 Castles.
