Gobi - yes, since Wokingham. My shoes are about 8 months old, which equates to about 300 miles of running, plus "walking about" use on a daily basis. If I get new shoes this week, do you think there's enough time to get 'em worn in before Reading on March 6th? And what's the best treatment for a bruised flexor? And what is a flexor? :-)

Even at 300 miles after 8 months and being used they are done mate. If you buy the same shoes that worked until now you should be ok. 2 weeks is a long time in running.

A flexor probably longus pushes your body forward when running, hard impact on warn shoes wold cause bruising

just try to get as similar as you can and get 2 pairs I always have more than one pair of shoes presently 5 pairs in use 3 are nikeair Pegs
I pair addidas swoop for fells and a pair of mudrocs for off road

I am about to purchase 2 new pairs as I have 2 on the way out

Sorry Katie. If it makes any difference to you, I hadn't made the assessment that the pain was worst when I was wearing my trainers - so now I'm more able to accept the idea that my lovely lovely trainers are officially knackered.

I think a support group is needed, "Letting go of worn out trainers". 'tis hard to accept, but remember, if you love them, set them free.
