Hi Jape, there are still spaces but they are reserved by some of the charities so you would have to pledge to run for them to get on the trip - we only just sold out - and very suddenly, there is a meeage on our website now and we have started to put a letter in with the brochures we send out.
Sportstours do still have places.I have booked with them.I am fundraising for a charity but organising everything myself and then having part of my money reimbursed if I raise the money I have said that I will.I have paid a £200 deposit,£85 for race entry and then the remaining balance at the start of September.I have also taken out insurance with them as it is sports specific. So far they have been excellent.I can't wait for this.I have been running for 10 years and have always wnted to do New York.I never thought I would.Last year I got into and did London for the first time. This years target was New York but I entered for London again.Major shock when I actually got in so now I am doing the double.Aren't I a lucky girl?!
In the meanwhile my application has been accepted and after a few emails with the NYRR they finally approved the application. Just in case anybody runs into a similar situation. They asked for a finisher's certificate.
URR - what happens if all you have is a print out of the results from a web page? Would be a shame to miss out if they are adament on having a certificate.
Jape - I got the qualification time, not for the marathon, but for the 1/2 marathon. The NYRR have an entrant database on their web site and you can check your status.
Andre Porritt - NYRR do not have clear guidelines what is acceptable and what isn't. I think it helps if you make sure the document has the name of the event, date, full result, possibly a permit number and the contact of the race director. You can send in a copy or fax it.
Thanks URR - will see what happens, depending on how things go with new baby will have to tread carefully! Would be good to get a confirmed place though.
Want to run the NYC marathon for free contack ron.mcandrew@lthtr.nhs.uk and run for a leading cancer charity, raise £750 and a flight & entry package is yours FREE, raise £1500 and a full three day package is yours FREE. Also a few GNR entries still available, raise £400 and there yours.
I'm entered the same way via STI and also am looking forward to what should be a great event. I know people who ran it last year who had an excellent time and enjoyed the whole package.
have sent off booking form today,so hope I will get in with sportstours.Running with my other half for his 50th birthday and hoping to take in some sightseeing including a visit to Niagara Falls. When I phoned this morning they said they had and just to complete booking form.
Keep the entries flowing in, the more the merrier. The list promises to be huge by November. We will have to arrange a meet at the pre-race pasta party or, even better, a few beers after.. Anyone up for this?
From your NY travel itinerary it sound like we are travelling out and back on the same days.
URR - good work with the list, it will be a full time job updating it. As the time draws nearer we will all have to work out a way to spot fellow forumites, a rolled up copy of the NY Times under the left arm or a carnation in the buttonhole of your running vest that sort of thing.

I am planning just to "tick over" for now and start proper training around July. Just hope I stay injury free!!!

I have applied via the ballot system (I did not get drawn last year).
Allowing for guaranteed entry after 3 failed 'ballots', I should definitely be running NYC 2007 (I last ran NYC in 2003).
I am due to fly over on the Thursday morning from Heathrow and return late on the Tuesday evening. Hopefully I won't be too tired to sight see!
Count me in as well,
Regards,

I haven't been to do the Pasta Party in previous years, but will definately do this year and hope to see a few RW forumites there.
Anybody knows what the latest is on SportsTours availability?
