    I saw a book advertised at the train station today - i think it was called Merde Hot - meant to be a must buyfor any Brit living in Paris. have you guys heard of it/read it? Happy to try and find you guys a copy if you wish. The least I can do for all your efforts on the social front.

    Also, any tips on where to dine on Friday noght - staying at COncorde lafayette so preferably somewhere nearby.

    Haven't heard of that book. I'll have a look next time I'm in WHSmiths.

    The Concorde Lafayette is right next to Neuilly where I live. For a traditional French cuisine go to Chez Gerard, Rue Montrosier, Neuilly, tel 01 46 24 86 37 - or my favourite, Durand Dupont, Place du Marché, Neuilly, tel 01 41 92 93 00. DD can be a bit pricey though! La Grande Armée is very nice too. Go up towards the Arc de Triomphe from your hotel and it's on your right at the top - tel 01 45 00 24 77. In fact I could go on and on... perhaps we should meet for an aperitif on the terrase at Durand Dupont when I finish work on Friday to draw you up a plan? :)

    RB - I think I made the reservation for 7pm as some of you will probably want an earlyish night, non? I've reserved for 30 to be confirmed during the week before. There shouldn't be a problem fitting us all in!

    Hi all,

    Rach, if Emma is coming to pasta party my 2 would never forgive me if they got stuck at home with the babysitter. Better add them to the list too.

    Very nice restaurant and bar called La Gare for a special night out. It is a refurbished railway station, so quite interesting and exquisite food. Upmarket but not HUGELY expensive. It is in Passy, Chaussée de La Muette. no: 01 42 15 15 31.
    Who was it coming to France for a romantic weekend?

    Perfect place for tea and patissier is Ladurée. There is one on Champs Elysées no. 75. This is famous amongst my French friends.
    There is also a lovely place in St Germain des Pres. Le Bergemot, small and rustic serving a fusion of French and Morroccan food. It is Metro Mabillon and on the corner of Rue Clement. There is also a fantastic Irish pub near there with live music.

    Rach/Patouka - think I made the title up - someone has told me it is called A Year in the Merde so don't go searching for Hot Merde or Merde Hot!

    Will pack some eggs for you guys - hopefully they arrive safely (will be dependent on the quality of the food on the Eurostar)

    Chez Clement is a café/restaurant at Porte de Versailles right opposite the entrance to the expo. Guess I'll stick you down on that list too! :)

    Hi All

    For those going to Chez Clement (hopefully it is easy to find) I will aim to be there for 4. Hopefully I will have already done the expo thing by then (I'm guessing it will take about an hour at the expo and assuming no delays on the train). Can't imagine I'd be held up much later than say 4.30. Please feel free to drop me an email and I can give you my mobile number.
