10k races this weekend

Anyone else doing a 10k race this weekend? One week to go and I feel good so must be a good idea?????

Training schedule calls for 10 mile on sat and 6 on Sun so is it a wise idea to replace the 6 miler with a 10k race?


  • If you feel good then go for it - just don't go all out and injure yourself!
  • Distance is the same FC- near as. Does your schedule ask for an easy run? I bet it does. If you do a race now, the temptation is to go fast, which will surely be counter- productive to your marathon taper.

    I'm down to do the Darrent Valley this Sunday, but I may bottle it in favour of getting in a long run. My running has been a bit sporadic in the last few weeks and I'm keen to get back on track.
