pix: well the thoughts were of both really! and not really titillating!! lol
In Jne I may well be running the Sheffield Marathon if you'd care to join me, only thing is you have to be fairly confident on finishing in under 4:30 as there's a sweep vehicle! But if you can train enough to do that feat, it's a fab city marathon that finishes in the Don Valley stadium for one of those "I am in the Olympics" moments
If it is any consolation pix I have not been able to run for about two weeks. A further two weeks to go. I will be finding out if I have a golden bond place for FLM in the next week.
My PT appears not to be worried by enforced lay off - I am!
cheers Fi - I will enter after Chrimbo - just cash flow at the mo! ill make sure i get in as i have NO INTENTION of running a marathon - so Moonwalk will be agood way to go the distance and loads of fun with Triple F's
oh yes Bune! miss "I think I'm so crap that I can only manage a few 5K races for life next summer!" Well I think she can do longer distances sooner than that, and will kidnap her and take her to a training camp to prove it*
* - not really but i do have faith that you could improve a lot quicker bune!
I posted this a couple of days ago and am so relieved. I know you should not think the worst but was seriously worried.
The dr thinks it is muscular and will be going for physio and to see consultant. Cannot walk let alone run at the moment but things are going to get better. Am not giving up hope of FLM place, am doing Moonwalk (even if in wheelchair), and have a place in GNR next year.
Im not that committed at the mo Psi- (you may have noticed!) - plus playing hockey till easter means its difficult to fit serious training around playing training - which is why im going to break the year into bits- carry on consolidating time between Jan - march - then think about upping the pace April onwards - when i hope to be another stone or so lighter which will make it a bit easier!
when you get to my age Psi - you suddenly realise that recovery is very neccessary - and i might do a novice tri in the summmer!
i was waiting for that one! i'll have you know i know ppl older and far less fit than you that have gone from 0 to their first 5K race in as little as two months! so there! get a move on!!!
(this is totally self serving btw - i just want you to enter races i'm in! )
Problem(s) are in right hip and knee. I think that because I had blisters I ran oddly and strained these areas.
I have had x-rays and there is no damage (brilliant) but still am unable to walk properly after 5-6 weeks.
Am confident that it will get better, and also determined that it will improve. Because of thyroid problem am now very fed up because I was actually losing weight and gaining fitness. Hopefully will not go too far back.
Psi - you are far too young!! What are you studying?

Bune - nice to speak to you again.
Have you both entered for the Moonwalk? I have and can't wait!

Psi - great, leg is b@ggered but feeling much more cheerful.
I suppose things should be put into perspective (see Cath's posts) but sometimes it is difficult.
Its like a holiday - o.k I am sad!
