  • I hate cucumber too - makes me burp.

<<ST fishes cucumber pieces from Womble's glass>> It's all right, my hands are very clean.

Peaceman, plenty Pimms, industrial strength. Want a jug instead of faffing about getting your glass refilled?

  • Thanks, ST :-)
  • You're welcome.

Now, can I trust you all to use the honesty box and not to insult the Morris Men if I disappear for a wee while? I have an urgent appointment with some champagne for our friends' son's birthday....sitting in their garden, eating birthday cake and sipping fizzy. Total bliss...

May speak to you all later. Please don't trash the place just cos I'm not here to be bossy..
  • Phew that was tiring. Hope you all enjoyed my Morris dancing.
Glad to get out of that beard.
Hope no one minds if I leave the bells on though.
  • Bar's open again. Still some Pimms left, if anyone wants any.

MB, fabulous Morris Dancing. I particularly liked the jaunty way you flicked your handkerchief in the second number. Pity your stick flew out of your hands and hit one of the customers on the head, though. Bill for broken window will be sent to you in the week. But you can keep your bells on.
  • Never hand Pimms, perhaps I could try a glass?

I'll have a pint of old speckled hen too though please!
  • Evening ally30, good to see you in here tonight.

I think you'll like the Pimms, very refreshing but tastes deceptively innocent ;-)

Try it - I'm holding back on the Speckled Hen until you sample the Pimms.
  • I'll have the beer now ST!

Or if you are all out of ale I'll have a g&T.
  • Whoever heard of a pub that ran out of beer?! Speckled Hen coming right up...

<<ST quickly quaffs the remaining Pimms, burps discreetly (rogue cucumber) and delicately wipes her mouth on the sleeve of her blouse>>
  • Oooh, can I have a pint of lime and soda, please, no ice. Must rehydrate after nasty sweaty r*n.
  • Here you are Womble. There's a second pint lined up for you. You look as though you need it.

    Long run?
  • No, not at all. Had one new person turn up so there was a slow mile and a half after my mile and a half to get to club (which I did too fast for some reason), then second lap. So only about 4.5 in total. Just v hot and sweaty.

That second pint is lovely, thanks.
  • Thanks ST, the ale was lovely!
  • is there a lock in?
  • Just about to ask the same thing.

<<looks both ways for signs of bar staff>>

    what can I get you?
  • Oh fab! Now I'm rehydrated can I have a real drink, please? One from my youth (ish)-whisky and southern comfort, two lumps of ice :-)
  • One whisky and southern comfort coming up. Might give one of those a try myself. Both lovely drinks, just never had them in the same glass.
Is that a rusty nail, or am I thinking of something else?
  • Don't know if it has a name. I like both and the whisky thins out some of the sweetness of the southern comfort without reducing the alcohol content too much!

    Hmmmmm lovely.....
  • Now I think about it, I think the rusty nail is whisky and drambuie.

    All lovely anyway.
  • Think I'll take this one home with me now. Off to bed. Enjoy the lock-in.
  • Night.
  • knock knock?

How can a pub not be open yet? Oh dear, I need a pint! Had a good run today, want to reward myself.

And anyhow, ST said something about champagne?
  • Hmmm think it's cos everyone's down the road at the pub with the telly. Have a glass of champagne on the house. Still got the spare keys tee hee.
  • I hate it when the customers arrive before the staff!! I was moonlighting at my other job (the one I get paid for) and lost track of time.

Champagne is chilling, just getting the glasses out and waiting for Tinribs to let me know when he wants me to crack it open so we can all toast his magnificent achievements in only a year of running.

Tinribs, are you there?? Thirsty people waiting for you.....ally needs to celebrate her run today, sounds like it went well :-)) ((((ally))) - hope that makes up for family indifference!

PS (whispers) I will show you the back way into the pub if you promise not to tell. Then you can sneak in any time and I can get on with other stuff. Like selecting a floozy outfit and Bet Lynch earrings to wear to conform to the buxom barmaid stereotype...sshhh
  • Okay, I am taking an executive decision and am opening the champers now!!!

    *pop*

Oops, watch out for that cork, Womble and ally!

Pass us your glasses. Tinribs, it's here waiting for you!
  • Yes, where is that tinribs? I'm amazed that he has only been running a year and has acheived so much.

  • I'm sure someone will come in shortly wearing a red shirt wanting champagne. I'll have a glass anyway, thank you most kindly.
  • Hmmm do you mean a Liverpool fan, ally? Well, we can offer champagne to them and also to help any saddened Chelsea fans overcome their disappointment.

Maybe Tinribs has gone all shy at the thought of being the centre of attention. Let's call him

    TINRIBS!!!!TINRIBS!!!
  • <<bursts through door>>

did I hear a cork pop? Ran here as fast as I could.
Wow, 5 miles in 22 mins. Quite pleased with that.

    errr, TINRIBS, TINRIBS!!!
    (what's he done?)
  • He's celebrating a year of running, MB. Or to be more precise we are waiting to celebrate with the champagne on ice and he's hiding!!

TINRIBS, WHERE FOR ART THOUGH TINRIBS??
