I am a beginner, only done two race, Silverstone half marathon and Marwell Zoo 10K. I found out about this race through Crossroads, a Saturday club for special needs children which my son goes to. Unfortunately, I got turned down for the Great North Run.
Hi Mr Creosote, welcome. With your inside information, you will be able to tell us how many people have signed up. I am a bit of a plodder, so I hope there are some more like me.
nrg-b it says you can entre on the day. I spoke to them a week ago and they had about a 100 people entered the 5 mile. I have not received my daughters 2k no., but was told it would be ok if I didn't get, just turn up.
I did this one a couple of years ago. There was entry on the day and the route went around a park, past something that resembled a duck pond and through the high street at one point. As I am not that familiar with Barking I couldn't tell you exactly where it was! No water stations then either...just a sponge station!
