Grandad has Parkinsons and I can't seem to get out of the family how much longer he's got left. Got a bit of a fright on Christmas Day when Nana said the nurse had been kissing and cuddling him.
aw sorry JJ its horrible - my nan (my rock) died in january after being v ill over chrimbo and its so hard - my other nan is very poorly in nursing home and yesterday i felt like i was saying good bye
Its hard to say Josie if he can swallow ok , then hes less at risk of chest infections, sometimes parkinsons stays static it will also depend on his othe medical problems, if he has any Big hug:)
Thanks for the support guys, was a bit touch and go on Christmas Day, I was very down, then my friends turned up and I was so busy that I didn't have time to brood.
Thats what I needed to know that you can't tell. He's really prone to infections and every time he gets a bad one we all worry then he pulls through, tough old bird my Grandad.
Hugs to JJ and pix - grandparents are very very special and watching them get older is very hard - and yours are great grand parents too which is nice ( I couldnt fulfil that for mine- which is a little sad when Nan was 96 when she died in Jan - survived till her birtday on the 11th jan - even tho we had had 'the ' call on christmas day and Newyears day)
yes, and the trouble with home care is that they come at funny times of day, so the elderly often dont want them Im a great believer in people staying at home if they can though
Rocky Horror sounds good Pix but I must admit I was looking forward to nice protracted Italian meal with lots of Energy Drinks. Plus I saw Antony Head as Frankenfurter and any one else will be an anticlimax

whatever you studs like to net Psi!
Can he walk? Can he swallow ok?
bune: well, i want to net you when i get back to manc, but fear not, it's only for a brew at starbucks
He can't walk or move very much but he can swallow, he is very frail. You know what Yorkshire people are like, if he's still breathing 'he's right'

Can we dress up?
My Nana has to do every thing for Grandad and my aunties and Uncles take it in turn to get him in and out of bed.
benz and pix: well i'd meet you too but you don't live about 3 miles from my house lol
(well bune lives a bit further than that, but not much )
