sorry to hear of so many injuries and niggles still around..........
I managed 4 runs on holiday.......a slow 3 then a 4 on last weekend to check out to see if the hamstring was better................then a 9 miler on tuesday just to check i could get over 6 miles on it..............still a few niggles but hopefully after a massage on tueday i will be fine for next weekend...........................going to llanelli tomorrow to check out the area etc....
Its a lot better than it has been for months thanks. Will do a little run in the morning. So nice to be able to get out even if its only for short runs. Hoping to build up gradually.
Yes, getting better from whatever it was thanks. I reckon that I should be able to run about 3:05 in London but am considering setting out at sub 3 pace and adopting a sh*t or bust strategy. Why not go for a 20 mile PB and then see what happens from there ?
All in all thought I bet on the day I won't have the bottle to do that, my instincts are always to play it safe, but you never know. You going for sub 3:30 then ?
I know that Chris, but what I wasn't planning was 10 months recovering from a knee operation in 2009 ! I am still not running as 'elegantly' or efficiently as I was before that.
All in all too, I have always focused training on quality miles. This year I have focused on miles (as many people do). I have also done a 16 week programme rather than a 12 week. Having had the experience I reckon that less miles and less weeks is actually better.
Lovely day for it. I am off up the M4 for a visit to the in-laws. Lovely people but could do without it today, seems wrong to be going inland on a day like today.
It was warm for me too. Up Afgan Argoed : 10 miles @ 7:05 pace avg and 8 @ 7:15 avg which was the plan. Actually felt better between 15 & 18 than between 1 & 3 !
"Alex, when have you ever seen me run ELEGANTLY", I know, you always remind me of Steptoe
I remember a few years ago watching one of the really fast runners warm up for the Glynneath 5. It was almost like he was puppet, his feet barley touching the road as he sailed along. It was almost inspirational.
I was confident after Rhyader but the hamstring playing up has really made me wary.............the problem is unless i can can go sub 4:30 I don't want to do it

Alex, this is 2010, this is the year you have been planning to do it. You have to go for it. You can and will do it.
Any tips for the National? Other than dont waste your money.

National ?
How about 2,13,14,19,42,49
