Ok girls and guys! 2005 is finished, time to start discussing next year!!

  • Not a triathlon, its an ultra marathon in South Africa, 89km, 12 hours to finish! yuo in?
  • Its just a little run of of around 86K in South Africa....
  • whoa! I haven't even done a marathon yet - am planning on doing the BArbados one and then the London one.

    Also just getting my bike to do tri - would like to do an maybe....

    PS. you cant enter until after January if I remember correctly

    and definately not now as there is no info on the web site except that this years race is finished
  • Oh well time to do a marathon to qualify and save some dosh, but first to get rid of this cold ;-(

    Have you run before?
  • UK, Essex. Yes do run (albeit badly)and a member of a running club, or if you mean have i run comrades before NO, have done 3 marathon and have one coming up in October just need to get some proper training done for this first.
  • Welcome, will be good to have a novice for the race to chat with! i have done 2! Gobi over there has just completed his first and raring to get going with the 2nd!

    Im from Pretoria South Africa, have run about 10 ultra's , and lots of marathons, i forget exact amounts!

    they recommend 65ks about 40-41 miles
  • Hi Grant,I started a Comrades 2006 thread a day or two ago,I suggest we concentrate on one thread,I am prepared to divert people on my thread to this one. The least one mad South African can do for another :o)
  • Gobi I'm going to be thick here, 40-41 miles, do you mean per week or in one go...

    Better idea would be if you could put down one of your ave weeks training..

    march april may I did around 60 miles per week

    I usually use the ultra's for my long runs! cant do that by myself!
