Patellar tendonitis

I've got patellar tendonitis (again) but am meant to be doing a kayak/bike/run triathlon early October. Biking is OK at the moment, but I'm panicking about not being able to run.

I'm after suggestions for cross training - what would be best for fitness - and not aggravate my knee.

I have access to a nordic track cross country ski machine and also a rowing ergo.

(Please don't suggest swimming - I hate it - which is why I've picked a triathlon that doesn't involve swimming!!)

Any advice much appreciated!
