Any chance that whoever does the orders from Louis Garneau next time could bung me in for a small top? I've seen your kit in RW & on the web, and would love to don it in my forthcoming duathlon debut, early next year.

I need some pirate gear as well for IM germany next year-no rush obviously, but if someone is going to be putting in a bulk order sometime soon and needs to get the numbers up...I think that I will be a medium, but not sure-all my cycling tops are medium, so i'm guessing this is the case! Do i need a cycling and running vest in pirate stylee, or do we just wear a cycling top for the whole thing?

I can't work out where else to put it, so here it goes.

Are there any orders going through for tri kit before IMDE?
Specifically a monaco and shorts.

If there isn't, do any of the current pirates have any tops that are too big? (6'4" and about a 42/44 chest, so no girly hand me downs please)

Might be better to keep kit discussions on here instead of hiding in amongst all the other threads!



FeFe has been getting the stuff from Louis Garneau for us, but stil hasn't been paid cause of problems sorting out the tax and import duty.
There is no hurry and I think it is only fair to sort out paying for the last lot before we all start asking him to order more.


But in the meantime an organised list might be the way to go :-)

Oh and there was a suggestion that some of us bring kit along to the August social so you can try it on and see what size you need.

The sizes come up very small...

I am 6ft 1in, 15 stone, 36in waist, 42in chest, 33in inside leg.

I have XL Monaco & L Shorts, shorts are fine if a bit skimpy but top is tight and just about ok but way to short on my body (hoping to slim a bit so it fits better).

I also have an XXL Skin which fits fine.

Just to let you know guys, that we were told to go up a size as the kit comes up small. I got a monaco top last time for a 38" chest and went up 1 size as suggested and think I should have gone up yet another size as it was a bit short in the body and tightish.

I'm 6'2", 12 1/2 stone, 42" chest, 32" waist and 33" inside leg.

I got a Large monaco top which is too small to wear and thus still brand new (willing to swap with anyone who wants to order an XL for me next time) and medium shorts which are OK but don't leave a lot to the imagination. Mrs G says I need large next time......

Yes they do come pretty small for the claimed sizes. Must be made for skinny pigmi's

noone told me the PSOF's were skinny. I singed up believeing my cake eating would fit right in here!

don't put your assumed sizes on. garneau kit is top quality, but their sizing chart is pants. you need to go up one, two or sometimes three sizes compared to the chart. all the stuff is made to order - so please try before you buy. probably at the august social. i guess that there will be an order made in september time, for delivery around christmas.

I'm still playing catch-up with you guys. What are these socials. I'm assuming from the little I have gotten to know you that social is another word for p**S up? Hopefully that's a real one with cake not a virtual brewery which would be rather sad. Where, when, who goes?????

jo - its the runnersworld meet up in london every month. the last time all the pirates came down for one, rosey arranged an unconscious oxy and an unconscious me in a grotesque human tableau in a hotel bedroom, and took photos of us. i'm also informed that i kissed smithy, but i can't remember that (obviously the mind would suppress something like that though). other than that, they are quite restrained affairs.

I noticed on the IMCH photos that all of you seemed to be wearing painted-on tops - I hate tight clothing that restricts my breathing.
so candy - as I have no chance to try before ordering, are you saying that women's size L is really an XXL under lg's sizing???

IW, i've never worn the women's kit(!) but the mens needs to go up a few sizes (although its meant to be skin tight anyway). i'd suggest you speak to Jj re womens sizing. if you want loose, then going XXL has to be a good idea.

or look at the various styles on offer, there must be something that takes your fancy and i'm sure there will be enough chicks this time around to make the minimum order.

did i get away with saying "chicks"? i had a fonzie moment.
