BR - getting a bit scared now. Did 5 miles on Sunday which is my longest run and my knee is a little bit sore, am sacking tonights run (which was only a couple of miles anyway) and hoping for the best. I will definately be there on Sunday regardless but so want knee to be fine!
I did the same before my first ever 10k. Ran for 60 mins on the Monday because I thought it would take me that long and I wanted to know I could complete the distance. Couldn't run another step til the race on Sunday. You'll be fine.
I'm scared now! Ran for an hour and 25 mins on sunday, wasn't too tired, although legs felt funny! But got flu on Monday and stull feel horrible now, hope i'm gonna make it!!
I have extremely tired, sore legs today but I hope to be ready by Sunday morning. It looks like it'll be an okay morning, weatherwise, although you never know...
Mel - hope you're feeling better, you seem to be doing great with the amount of time you can run - what sort of distance did you cover in the 85 mins?
My knee is sore after 5 miles on Sunday so am doing nothing this week apart from anti inflams and no running as I want it to be as ok as poss for Sunday. I won't finish anywhere near as quick as you judging by the above but I'll be really disappointed if I don't do my best because my knee hurts.
You'll be fine i'm sure, rest rest rest! Just about over my flu now, didn't get as bad as it felt it would, just achey all over, but seems to be dying down!
We did just under 8 miles in that time, so should defo be fine for Sunday, probably do it in an hour, with the adrenalin and stuff! Just worries me that i got flu straight after that :oS hope i dont make myself more ill on sunday! Good luck every1 x

Hi, enjoyed the race although I did find it really hard, much more uphill than I expected. The marshall were brilliant very encouraging and I had no probs with the toilets. I think you can get results of the barnsleyac.co.uk website but its not loading properly on my computer, I presume there are lists on the left and right hand side of the homepage but none of them load. Is this me?
Enjoyed it thoroughly, 40:26, a half minute faster than last year.
Chaps.. regarding H&T's enqiry - the Barnsley AC website homepage loads no problem with broadband, but some people on dial-up reckon it takes ages, sometimes stalls.
Enjoyed the race today. Good running weather and a well organised and supported race. Big thanks to the organisers and marshals. Liked the T shirt. Found last hard quite hard going. The course was more rural then I had imagined. Very enjoyable race. Failed to spot any forumites.
This was my last chance to do a race this year, work awkward shift pattern. Finished around 50 mins. Thoroughly enjoyed racing again. Many thanks to the Organisers & Marshals. Love the `T`Shirt. Hope to enter again next year.
Something wierd happened on the event rating thing, first of all didnt put my comments, then resubmitted and it said 2004 review and not 2005, how odd!
Really enjoyed the race, great course - a bit of a slow start as everyone filtered into a thin line up the drive & didn't hear the 'gun'. Well marshalled.
Thats cause there wasn't a gun Markie, he just shouted "go". I had a great race, the flatest 10k i've done for a while although still a couple of hills, got round in 46m 54s on my Garmin, over 2m off my PB. Can't wait till Abbey Dash.
I still think it's a reasonably fast course, although I'm not sure if yesterday was windier than last year because I can't remember last year. Only 5 seconds slower than last year, so very happy with that! All very well organised, so thanks to Barnsley AC for that. No real problems, although I was surprised to see that the water station was on the opposite side of the road to the one we were asked to run on. I thought the minute's silence was very well observed.
Thanks to BR for advising about showers - but I really did walk past the leisure centre about 5 times before seeing it!

We had 680 pre-entries and are expecting a few to enter on the day.
Remember to get here early to find somewhere to park.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow. I'll be the one in the grey `Barnsley AC' top at the start line
Hope you all had a good day.
Sorry about the toilets i did keep trying to tell people there were extra ones in the leisure centre that we could use (and it was in the info pack)
A big thankyou to all marshals and helpers.
Hope to see everyone there again next year.
really enjoyed myself again. big thanks to the organisers and all the lovely marshalls )
hope everyone else had a good day
i'm a bit new to all this so sorry if this is a stupid or bad question but when and where can we get results?
thanks xxx

The delay is due to popularity i'm afraid over 130 runners entered on the day
Still, it was great weather.
Mike
