True im a time trialist at heart but just popped over the local park and dropped down a load of steps.................big huuuuuuuuge grin on my face for the fun level!
Nor me with my 'suspension that has no MTB at all'...
Morning or whatever.
Mr P, sir, I used to watch Moseley in the glory days (and when I lived 3 miles from the ground (that's what people of my advanced years consider 'walking distance' )) Tis sad what's become of them (though Billesley Common would've been even closer...)
Min - I used to think that until I got my Cube. Also, as much as it is constantly being said on this forum, it really is true that a winter of MTBing will leave your legs much stronger for the road bike come the spring.
45miles for me this morning (on the road!) in 2hrs 35mins, which I was quite happy with. We shall not be caning it every day durnig LEJOG, but nice to know there is a bit of speed available. And - I only nearly got killed twice! Bonus!

Blimey Mr H, the good old days of Mose, before they tried to buy a team to keep them top flight huh.
Not sure if this link will work, but found the team lists for the Sam Doble memorial match, pretty much a who's who of late 70's rugby. Derek Quinell was supposed to be a replacement but ended up playing, have a look who took his place! I was 8 years old.
Ooh TT - nice colours (isn't that what I'm supposed to say about the bike)
I have the thing that's all the rage in Herefordshire - blandford fly bites - they are hideous - there is not a moment in the last 24 hours when I haven't felt the urge to scratch. I have 2 bites on my right leg (which have now merged) so that 2/3 lower leg is now red and one behind the knee on my left that is spreading upwards! They are going all blistery as well - bleurghhh.
I react badly to bites but these aren't good - might go to the doctor tomorrow....altho' I'm supposed to be at a conference.....
Symes - I think I managed 4. I failed on Lady Gaga, the Queen and Oxford University. And I take not knowing the answer to the first one as a positive sign.
I'm handing in my "supporting everyone else and looking after them, worrying about them, doing stuff for them when no-one gives a crap about me or asks how I am when actually I'm not doing well at all' hat.
Min - yes, sometimes you just have to stop giving a stuff about other people, because if you're not getting support externally, you need to retain all your supportive strength for yourself. And they're clearly not worth it.
Just going wandering round TT's way and you might be lucky enough to find a bike just leaning on the shop window with no lock on it, clearly a free sample...
Problem is, Flyaway, I've been out on the MTB quite a few times and never enjoyed it - partly because I think the people I have gone with have been too hardcore for me and I've been scared. It bugs me, because I know it translates well onto the road bike.
Min - if a proper well 'ard aferleet like you can admit to being scared by mountain biking, then so can I. Mine gets used mostly for the footpaths and cycleways of MK. I did a little off-roading a couple of years back - after the first time, I removed my SPDs and went back to toe clips. I just don't have the same nerve (or lack of sense) as when I was younger. And I was never that brave to begin with.

Nice wheels, TT. I'l always be a roadie, though.
p.s. You missed a marketing opportunity there - should have taken the photo with the web address showing.

TT - lovely!

I'm off.
Last Weston Prom of the season tonight - nice weather for it

Morning all from sunny MK
Blandford fly bites? Doesn't sound nice at all. Blandford Fly, the beer? Very nice.
HL - do you put Anthisan (sp) or anything on them. I tend to scratch bites to bits too (have lots of scars) but that cream does help the itching.
Aside from that, mornings!
Morning.........
HL.......WMS. I to have the scars
I trained yesterday.....I don't feel so good today.......too much!!!
Apart from the 7 in 7 quiz, a quite pathetic 1 scored today, my worst ever
Good morning gentlefolk!
HL, ouch, hope they settle down soon!
Gizzy, wow, what a side! What a front row! And Andy Irvine can only get in on the wing! Phew!
(it's a joke)
I'm feeling shite so that's quite funny, Crashie!
I'm handing in my "supporting everyone else and looking after them, worrying about them, doing stuff for them when no-one gives a crap about me or asks how I am when actually I'm not doing well at all' hat.
(puts hat on)
So, Min, how are you doing?
(puts Joey from Friends hat on)
So, Min, how YOU doin'?
I got 3/7. Thats usual for me.
Tee hee @ Crashie.
Min - yes, sometimes you just have to stop giving a stuff about other people, because if you're not getting support externally, you need to retain all your supportive strength for yourself. And they're clearly not worth it.
I should be biking already.
Wise words, Flyaway.
Pondering if I should get a decent MTB....
As established on the Transalp, wearing a hat doesn't make me interesting
Min, yep, I bet that Taff would do you a good deal
Min - at some point when finances permit, then the answer is always yes to another bike!
There is an ex-demo and cosmetically-damaged bike sale not that far from us this weekend. I am going to be good and stay away, just in case!
Wearing a hat doesn't make me more interesting, but it certainly makes my hair more interesting when I remove it (the hat, not my hair).
In other news, whales aren't really all that bright, are they?
