Must be my age showing again - when I was a kid we started on rum and blackcurrant or vodka and lime. Wouldn't touch either of those now with a 10-foot pole.

I, of course led a very sheltered life but I do remember the first drink I ever brought or was brought for me in a pub was a vodka and lime, I also had a taste for Southern Comfort, never touch spirits now.


So if you go you don't have to sign up for the full tri-program do you, as I don't swim and haven't been on a bike for ages. I am just wanting to do the running bit mostly and maybe learn to swim a bit better and do a couple of social bike rides.

Jane do you fancy going the week of 2nd March? I think you can do what you want. I'd do the tri stuff though. Mr Debbo says he's not going - he'll be in the middle of uni stuff then anyway.

Vodka and lime must be an oldies drink then - that was mine too, until it started making my teeth hurt - probably taking the enamel off them!

Jane - Of course you can think about it. I think I'll probably go anyway, but it would be cheaper and more fun to have other people there too.

gave up on the fags as well, can't do it unless you want to. depends whats more important. 40 a day for about 6 years took me 4 days of torture and I don't think about it at all.

If you can prepare for an IM you can do almost anything, smoking is one of the ones that mental is good for ;-)

Sezz - Great - do you want to do the tri week? I'll ring them again tomorrow and get costs for various sizes of apartment. I expect the bigger it is the cheaper it gets.

Sezz go for it and enjoy the training, you can decide what you want to do later, you never know when you may decide you want to (whispers) do an Ironman in the future.

I started Swim lessons in September last year, spent a month doing widths and then finally got my 25m badge in October.

I'm up for the long Tri week, im sure the numbers will grow, maybe get a dozen of us.

Think I can do either the 2nd or 9th, though I think youve already indicated w/c 2nd March.

Im not decisded on Seville, cant make my mind up, id say im fairly unlikely to do it hence not committed myself yet.

Carl I don't know why I said 2nd? I think just because the flights were a wee bit cheaper, but not much. Either week would do.

I'd like to do Seville too, but I think that would probably be a bit rash - to do that and then go to La Santa.

I wouldn't do Seville and then the Long tri camp... a 35 hour week is not the way to recover!
