What we do when Mick comes back is to start a new thread asking peope to sign a petition to be submitted to FLM: forumites could just add their names to the list on the thread. We'd then leak it to the Beeb and the Daily Mail (!) with a reference to the RW article.
Snaps.. <quote> What we do when Mick comes back is to start a new thread asking peope to sign a petition to be submitted to FLM </quote>
I sort of agree. I think an open letter to DB via the letters page of Runners World (if they have the balls to print it) rather than a straight petition. Then as you mention ensure the media pick it up.
If the thread tags onto this it'll be the same as a petition, but hopefully provoke a response from DB.
Needs to be tactfully done though so we don't shaft MicknPhil.
Only a thought, but I'm sure either approach will be a winnner :-)
Don't want to sound stupid but what about GMTV? MickNPhil can then have the famous sofa appearance! Lots of people do it. I'm sure lots will be interested in their story. That way it's making people aware of the condition and Micks family day to day doings. Maybe inspiring others. I think we would be on to a winner. Let me know what you think and with permission from Mick I'd go ahead with it. I'd be happy to start something.
Comments
Wheelchair fund has now gone over 4k.
As a lot of the MicknPhil fan club seem to be runners world subscribers it is probably a ggod move.
Looks like there will be enough left over to fix a drinks cabinet to the wheelchair
:-)
David Bedford beware.
:oD
(pretty please)

Mick, Phil & Lorraine Kelly.... bring it on!!!
Whatever happened to Mr. Motivator
I have had several letters printed in Athletics Weekly. If someone would like to draft one I will submit it in my name.
Let me know what you all think of the idea.

All up to Mick I reckon as he is the one who will have to cheesy grin alongside the tv person, or worse still get up at some unreal hour.
Seems a good idea though. Do you take a cut of their appearance fee for being an agent ;-)
