So that you could take some time out to re-assess and come back stronger for your pb. Gives you a chance to put life into perspective too and start living every day. Life is for being happy in!
I guess I have un-done and re thought the plan but maybe that was for other reasons. The 10K is/was always the goal for me and everything else is just for fun, a bonus. Think if I were to go say 68/<69 at Salisbury 10M I'd have to think seriously again at what to do.
No idea. I couldnt remember numbers and where we were supposed to be meeting - and not knowing what anyone looked like I didnt want to walk up to groups of people and say "Hi are you RD or DB?!" Thought I would have got some very strange looks!!
DB, not sure of time yet, will have to sit down and think about it... I always run without any particular plan and see what happens - upshot is I never work as hard as I could.
PB for a 10k for me is around 50 minutes, just shy I think?
RIO! You have run marathons - Of course you are good at the mind over matter stuff. You are a fab runner and I have every confidence that you will smash that PB on Monday.
How are you feeling with your FLM prep Rio? If you are going good then by all means kick yourself in the but (before DB does!) to keep going and slaughter the PB - However, do keep in mind the bigger picture... FLM is only 6 days after the Bunny and you are well into taper now..
I know Boff that is why I am torn. My hamstring is still a bit tight but will be going to chiropractor on Wednesday so that will sort out my restrictions a bit.
Feel good when I run. But I always start off feeling ready and fired and then get to about 4-5 miles and lose the will to live!
Bit different for the marathon it sets in then around 18 miles but its kind of in proportion to the length of the race I do. In a half its at around 10 miles. My head starts telling my body it cant run any further and just has to walk!!
Rio, I know exactly what you mean. It is pure mindgames, and awfuly hard to overcome.
They (mindgames) always hit me in the first third and last third of every race. The first third I am convinced I am going too fast and my legs are too tired (usually because I have not warmed up enough before hand). In the last third I have usually just picked up the pace and am beginning to suffer - then I start questioning why I'm doint this to myself, where is the end, and never again etc etc.
Then I get withing 200m of the finish and put on a mad sprint to the end - if I had worked to teh correct pace, I wouldn't be able to spring that hard at the end!

I never take offence!! I knew non was intended!! )
So if everything happens for a reason, what was the reason...?
I mean apart from the fact some **** couldn't drive properly!

I absolutely agree with your last comment!
So why didn't we meet up at Longleat?
Was trying to look out for loose lions!
Well Monday should be easy..
Apart from maybe one or two low flying choppers. Plenty of parking etc.
I'm hoping to be in nick for a good time, scoff my egg and then run back and encourage you to the line.
Boff - what you going for...timewise not egg!

...I'll have a thunk!
I want to run back to the car first, get changed and then trot back to the 8km marker....
<<<<prepare to dive>>>>
I was only joking!
But it'd be good to cross the line, get egg and head back to wherever to cheer you both on!
Going to be giving myself a good talking too over the next couple of days!!
What do you need to talk to yourself about?...if that's not being too nosey!
I am very much a wimp.
not good at the mind over matter stuff!

"Think my head is playing up after the accident ...getting blurred vision doc, I can see Rio AND Oatcake"...
Rio - have a ball on Monday, enjoy yourself - I know you will.

10K is a different game. It is going to hurt and you will get through. I will be there and have a strong bungee to pull you!
<Boff wonders if tidal wave (big one to reach Yeovilton) is on its way>

That is obviously why I dont do as well as I should then! Note to self - Must expect pain (what doesnt kill you makes you stronger!!)
Boff nice weather for Yeovilton!
