davidt, Yeah funny you should say that, I found it very slippy, thought it was just me cause my legs felt very tired. My time was 6s quicker by chip then on my garmin so an even happier bunny!! (45m 43s)
mine 9 sec faster than garmin 40.25 they some how managed to spell name wrong boy instead off boyes but what the hell iam happy and well done the rest off you a lot off pb s today
MillerMan - yes, that was me, one of the reasons for wearing the vest is so that people say hi so please don't be shy next time! You must have been going past me then........
Chip time 6 secs faster than Garmin but I'm not complaining!
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
I wonder if Nell McAndrew said `go' in such a small voice that the race clock didn't start for a few secs. It certainly seemed to take a while to jog over the chip mats, and I was on the 4th row of the grid.
I can't dispute the chip time as I forgot to start my watch until we passed under the bridge, so my own time was approximate. Given that my chip time of 46:08 was my PB, I'm not about to argue with it!
Oh, and the roads were very slippy unless you ran right in the middle. I had the same problem in the Brass Monkey, so I had assumed it was my trainers.
Missed my sub 40 min target, but got a pb at 40:43 (yes - chip time was 5 seconds faster than my watch time, so I'll take that). Disappointed on going over the finish line, but feeling better now I've had a while to digest it.
Seemed slippy on the way out and the way back. Thought it was going to be frost and was worried, but it was only in the town, so maybe it was the grease from last night's kebabs?
It's barely surprising you near gave me a heart attack, JARS, considering those blasphemous words you shouted out! It took at least a few seconds for me to figure out what had happened! No time for a witty riposte.
Very happy with the result - charged down the second half with a main rival passing people out as we went. Then he went and beat me in the sprint finish. Oh well!
And I thought it was slippy but that's because Asics shoes tend to have no grip whatsoever.
Glad you all enjoyed - good feedback! I was the happy little marshall clapping by the 7km marker on the return. Andy from Embsay, think it's a shoe thing this clappin feet! I was a nice quiet little runner, until I purchased a pair if Pumas, now you can here me running a mile off - it really puts me off. It was certainly nice to be on the other side of the fence and looking at all the weird expressions that people make! Hey ho, lazy Sunday over, nice half marathon this sunday which doesn't start til 12!! Bit late - brass monkey time was better. Well done to Claire Shaw, Ali H and her hubby ya'll did really well!
You're welcome my mate Ali! Well done with marathon training - Is it the Edinburgh one you're doing? Steering clear of Blackpool I guess!!! A tip re marathon training which I've quickly learnt, Try and fit in as many races, say 1/2 marathons,15 milers and even 20 for your one long run a week, cos it makes you get out there and do it and push yourself and more importantly, less boring!! Why don't you join me on sunday??? he he he ha ha ha! C U soon
i did think about Liversedge, but looked at the website and thought it looked far too scary - small number of people, hilly, and fast times. A recipe for me being last! David was tempted but he's missed the deadline. Yes, it's Edinburgh I'm doing. I'll take your advice and look for some more races to enter, only got Leeds half so far
I'm thinking about Ackworth but not sure where it is, perhaps we could do that one, think it's beginning of March. Didn't know that about Liversedge - got me worried now - new it was a smaller gathering but didn't realise they were fast times! It's about time you had faith in yourself Ms Honour! You always think you're going to be last which is absolute nonsence!!! Can't decided whether to do Leeds or not as it's only 3 weeks after FLM - I may have retired by then......

That Tracy Morris fair slaps the floor though - could hear her flapping away from the other side of the road!
sorry to miss it but I had a birthday lunch to go to at 12:00 noon so I was a bit pressed for time
not that you would have noticed if you had seen me running - though I did give you a cheer on the turnaround

Thank you!
How did you fare...hope you felt OK!
RB told me to look out for you to tell you we were having coffee, and I was afraid she would unleash her taser if I didn't so..!
Andy from E...Tracy M nearly scared the daylights out of Mr J when we were warming up...with her "flapping "
..wish I could flap like that!

I'm very vain you know
Well done again to DRR, although it does seem there might be one or two traffic issues. An excellent race again though.
The photos are on the TA images site, sorry I can't do the link to it.
Chipping made a big difference I believe to the start - less bunching to get over the line and I had no problems at all on the roads with traffic.
PS
how nice were those Traidcraft energy bars - must get some and support a good cause!!!!!
