Calling any medics

I had 2 vaccination jabs yesterday for Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Polio, Tetanus and Diptheria cos I'm going to Egypt in January. The nurse told me that there weren't any side-effects and I felt fine yesterday apart from a slight ache where I'd actually had the jabs.

I woke up this morning feeling extremely dopey and very under the weather - aching limbs and no energy. I also had some very vivid and disturbing dreams and was very restless in my sleep.

Hubby thinks it is due to the jabs. What is the medical opinion? And anyone else's experiences?

Some peeps do feel unwell after any jabs, and typhoid is known for causing a day or so of 'fluey' symptoms. Don't know about the dreams though. On the other hand you could be coming down with an unrelated bug. 'There's a lot of it around'. Hope you feel better soon.

Coco - what slug said. Not unusual to have a couple of days of feeling unwell after vaccinations - that's the point of them. They initiate the autoimmune response... to fight the bugs. So next time your body comes into contact with the bugs - it knows what to do to fight them!!

I had symptoms like that in the past for the Typhoid shot, even on its own!

Thanks guys. I shouldn't be coming down with anything cos I had my flu jab a few weeks ago (I'm asthmatic)! But I definitely feel pretty 'fluey' and have just fallen asleep for a couple of hours which is not like me at all.

Going to take some paracetamol and stay tucked up indoors for the weekend.

I hope Egypt is worth all this!!

hi i'm new to the forum but I have a problem maybe someone could help me with, about half an hour to one hour after I have been for a run dispite warming down on the homeward leg I get incredibly cold so bad I need to wrap in a blanket, cuddle a hot water bottle and drink hot fluids for an hour or so to warm back up is this normal? hot shower dosen't help either. any ideas or does anyone else get the same?

hi yes call me tut thats fine.
I run from 4 to 8 miles depending how i`m feeling but it always happens even on my short sessions feel a bit of a wimp bundled up on the sofa after my runs.

maybe, i don,t take fluids while i`m out perhaps you could be right may try to carry drink with me and see. thanks for the advice

hot chocolate / soup when you get in? and wrap up straight away when you get back so you don't start getting cold, & do stretches / warm down _inside_ not hanging about in the cold!

Another vote for dehydration. Make sure you drink plenty of water immediately after your run.

thank you thank you thank you i'll try it all anything to stop that awful cold to the core feeling it's rotten. don't think i've ever been blue after a run too many endorphins........eurphoric!
