Aye, well. But the club are only paying him £20k. D. Desmond is paying the rest from his own pocket. Nice to have a sugar daddy. Mickey mouse it may be, but remember we made UEFA Cup Final, and now the Blue Meanies make the second stage of CL.
Joking aside still a quality player although i think his best years have gone, not so much a box to box player anymore more of a spoiler... but what a player to have as a leader in the team
I reckon he'll either be a fantastic success and enjoy an Indian Summer or he'll become frustrated with his own form and the relative lack of ability of his team mates and be off by the end of the season.
"Danny - you must work in a very talented office then. I'll remind you that we (comfortably) beat both Barcelona and Liverpool in that UEFA Cup run."
And Blackburn.
I love the way that the English go on about our "Mickey Mouse" league even after Celtic (and Rangers) have cuffed top EPL sides in European competition in recent years.
Not sure how anyone can say a league containing Dunfermline, Livingston, Kilmarnock, Aberdeen, Hibs, Falkirk and Motherwell isn't a Mickey Mouse league.

What do you know about these clubs? I think you'd be surprised if you were to research the history of Aberdeen, Hibs, Kilmarnock and Dunfermline out of your list.
Danny - I'm assuming then that a league with Hearts in it ISNT a mickey mouse league. That then proves my point. Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Hibs, and possibly Killie could all give the English Premiership clubs a run for their money. I refer you to our previous UEFA Cup games, and last years Rangers games against Moan U in CL. <confesses to cheering on Moan U>
Now, back to RK. The man is a touch on the old side, and has the temperament of an alligator, but the fact that we've got him for £40k a week has put a few noses out of joint. The fact is that he is still a quality player (why else were so many inc Real Madrid) after him, and prepared to pay a lot more as well. So long as he can screw the nut, and Strrachan can find an effective place for him, it is a good deal for all.
I think the arrival of RK will cause a few teams to try to raise their game, and not just in games against Celtic, as the spotlight will be on the SPL for a while.
Joking aside, Danny, there is a lot of complacency in the SPL, where teams play to the level they think they need to to stay up/get 3rd place.
RB - whether a few SPL teams could give English teams a run for their money right now I don't know as I don't see much Scottish football - but there are probably 35 teams in England bigger than Hearts and Hibs.
I think even Celtic and Rangers would struggle to be better than mid table with their current squads - you only have to look at some of the players playing for them now.
popsider - bigger does not mean better. The fact that Wigan (Wigan for gods sake!) are at the top end of the Premiership and have come close twice to beating Chelsea proves my point. There may well be 35 bigger clubs in England, but are they all really that good?
Hard to say unless they were playing each other on a regular basis. I think though yes, my team Derby would be top 3 or 4 of the Scottish Prem - and we are mid table in the Championship. I've seen Scottish internationals down here like Dailly, Brian O Neil (is he an international?), Jess etc and to be honest they are average Championship players.
I'm not knocking Scottish football as my family are Rangers fans and my grandad used to take me along to Love St (think I was considered too young to go to Ibrox) from about the age of 5.

45K a week to play in that mickey mouse league of yours, no wonder he has gone into retirement

UEFA Cup - Donald Duck Cup
I reckon I could get a bunch of people together from this office and win one of them.
Then again I'm a Coventry fan so what do I know!

And no I'm not a h*n.

And yes, he is a liability. But thems the risks you take in football.
Apparently, then club are paying the full whack of the wages. So they said in the press conference.
Not mentioning any Lennon or Hartson names........
And Blackburn.

Granted Livi are a Mickey Mouse outfit.
(although having watched them play this season, Mickey Mouse would have humped them on several occasions.....)
<bang>
[shoots Danny with potato gun]
Buckie Thistle forever!
just to let you know!
I changed my name to stop autograph hunters tracking me down.

Good luck to Celtic for the rest of the season though.

Can only be a good thing all round really.
