Hang on a sec - bugger that! Actually I don't need to any more - I only need to do 3:15 as the next FLM entry form I fill in will be for a 40 year old. he he.
See you there. I may bring a fast friend with me this year - help pull me round a bit.
Noooooo !!!! The training I can stand, but nearly 8 months of the Abingdon Marathon Forum???
Really good to see it's on given the doubts before last year - well done AA.
Probably back for the 3rd year in a row - need to doublecheck that it's our county champs (guy running that was supposed to be giving up but couldn't find anyone else .....). That said though, I like this one anyway and it's my first year as a Vet - only 17 secs behind last year's Vet's winner and about 4 mins from the Vets Course record (2:41 I think) - hmmm, now there's a thought, but as MOTR said - FLM first.
it's a brilliant marathon, very well organised, a flat course, lots of forumites doing it (well, there were last year) so plenty of support. Sounds perfect to me for a first marathon.
Good luck with half marathon no. 3 and then see you in Abingdon.
I've just entered this on a bit of a whim (well OK, it was on my computer actually). Doing Barcelona in a couple of weeks and this will be my third marathon.
Slightly worried by the smallness of the field but I reckon a flat course could bring out a nice sub-3hrs.
Hiya all. I'm thinking about doing this too.A few of my club mates have done this and from comments made by others that have done it, it seem quite a good one to do.Lets see how FLM goes first.
Hi Tracey how are you keeping? Running going well? We seem to be meeting up on a lot of these threads lol.
I assume you haven't done the GSR b4? If you have, do Abingdon. It's along way to go for a 10M run? I read the other day that there's a Great Eastern run as well. Too costly for me.
Stylish - I did GSR last year, then the week after did Abingdon. I got priority entry so entered. So instead of Abingdon, I am doing Beachy Head. Hope to do Abingdon again next year, when I am faster and it does not take me 5:53:53.

:-)
I will do sub 3 hours.

naaaaaaaaaaah
BIG BAD BOING
As I am approaching my goal of under 2 hrs in a half, hopefully at my 3rd attempt, I am considering
perhaps
maybe
possibly
upping to the full distance.
Do you recommend this as first marathon?
Thank you!

I did it as my first mara, BRILLIANT!
Sadly this morning I hurt my foot so I might have to take up Javelot, Go Karting or even Quilting if it's really bad.
Slightly worried by the smallness of the field but I reckon a flat course could bring out a nice sub-3hrs.
HA! Fat chance...
Found it Womble
:-D
