Have decided to give this one a go again this year after last years run/walk attempt, struggling with the heat (in March), any excuse I know :-).
Is a great course (scenically not gradiently) and really enjoyed my day out over there last year.
Who else is up for it and what's your weather prediction?

I am booked in for the Forest of Dean the day after but I am well tempted. I too got the entry forms this morning.
UM - the momento was a bum bag last year. Most of them were left cast aside hanging off peoples fences and in the gutter. (Unfortunately there must be a fair few people who had the same thoughts as me ;-) I was expecting a medal, as I had been told that's what they had the year before. You can only imagine my disappointment!!! However Matt the Brum managed to get one from the year before for me when he went up for his prize, so I did actually get a medal after all :-)
I have entered now Caz, I am just this crazy sort of guy. More a fool really, but we'll brush over that one.
How's the training going ?
Training for FLM started yesterday, and this will just have to fall into place within that! So far so good, although it couldn't go far wrong really as they've both been short slow runs. Ask me again in 5 weeks!!! How about you?
Ok I suppose. Did 4:07 in NYC, including a blistering 2:50 to the 20 mile mark. Blowing up is my speciality. Taken it easy since then including several weeks off.
Started my prog last week with the Runners World program. Did the week -1 but but added hills on the Friday.
Managed 46 mins on the Richard Burton 10k on Sun so fairly pleased as there is 1600 ft of climbing in it.
All that said, I too will know better in a few weeks. Went out tonight meaning to do 6 and only did 4.
Have been reading your NLRISP thread occasionaly and you lot seem to do quite a lot.

As for 'doing a lot', I used to do 40M a week defo but since Amsterdam have been lucky to do 20!! Back at it though :-) Got to if I'm gonna make it around this one eh!!
Am wondering if anybody knows if Stourbridge RC are putting on the coach again? Matt the Brum are you around?

Very friendly atmosphere so don't worry about being fast/slow, just get yourself entered its a great race.
Was going to enter the 5 mile the year but I can't bring myself to miss the 20. Also there is a bigger gap this year until FLM.
Last year's race half killed me, wasn't ready for that heat, made me struggle to drink my Guiness afterwards.
Have managed to persuade some members of my family to do the 5 miler! (I have great powers of persuasion!) Does anyone know the route? I told them it wasn’t hilly ;o) Is it part of the 20 mile route?
I missed a bit with the suncream on the Sarn Helen Hill Race last summer, still got a dark coloured triangle on my shoulder now. Can't be good.
Hi, Cycloid. I was kaput from 12 miles. I am also hoping to do somewhat better.

Caz, my bold hill climb was undoubtedly too bold !

Off for 18 mile gentle plod this morning. Rhyader this year will not defeat me !
SP - This will be part of my FLM training too. It was literally all I did to train for Taunton mara last April and it served me well. Fingers crossed for FLM.
WA - Hanging around for a drink after? We'll have to celebrate our success this year :-/
