Hi, I've also just entered. Did the Liverpool Half Marathon in March and the Blackburn Winter Warmer earlier in the year. Anyone know how it compares to the Blackburn Winter Warmer, hill wise?
Cheers Wiz, the Winter Warmer was tough. Second mile was a killer, followed by another uphill on mile 5. Was good training for the Liverpool run though. I'm using the Bolton 10k as trainig for the Blackpool 1/2 marathon in June, although the Blackpool run should be entirely flat i expect.
ye i entered in january! number 15 had it for a few months, was starting to worry it might be the wrong one! everyone elses marked with an adidas logo on top, and www.adidas.co.uk/running below?
Great race, really well organised, thanks to all involved. Quick getting the results online too! And I even got a small Tshirt, rather than the usual large one which drowns me! Thanks very much.
It was my first race so nothing to compare but it seemed really well organised to me. Thanks to everyone involved from me as well.
I really enjoyed the day, and got a PB for the distance of under 66 minutes, despite recovering from flu. Was expecting the hill at 6km, but that final 1K nearly killed me - thought it was never going to end! Does anyone else think that was long km!
alrite sweep fella! hows it goin m8? havent seen you at trainin for a week or 2, accordin to http://www.race-results.co.uk/results/2006/bolton06.htm i got 40.58, but i timed it at 40.57!haha, its a pb for me by 8 minutes aswell! 49th out of 545 so very pleased with that. pugs i think i spotted you and marshallini at the end wasnt sure if it was you 2 tho! ran the first 2k in 7 minutes i was coming about 8th or 9th at the point but had to slow down, picked up the pace again by the end tho! will have to change my tactics for croxteth park next week 40 minutes is going down!
I thought todays race was organised excellent, so a big thanks to everyone associated.
Does anyone know if the course was long, i was at least a minute down on my expected time and had heard that a couple of garmin watches measure 10.3km`s that would make my time a pb, although 27th overall is a good result.
sprinting toffee: yeah me and Chris were sitting down at the end... you was just in front of me then git ;-) Which means you went past as we came to the 9k marker ;-)
I wasn't wearing my orange vest, it was a green one... ;-)
Looks like it was just me that never had there time recorded by the marshall at the end. I couldn't have made my number any clearer to him, I stood right in front of him and he read it. Bring in chip timing for all races.Really annoyed.
oohhhh nice one rob, you cant ask for more than that, i have been the club but only really on thursdays, i have been recovering over my long runs on sundays,
I wasn't on the results when I did the Lostock 6 a few weeks ago and I e-mailed the organiser and was put on the results list within 24 hours. Get in touch with the race organiser and see if there's anything you can do about it.
I've just google earthed the route and I get it to at it's longest 10.2k but I'm guessing where the start was but even if you take more than the length of the footy pitch off it's still at least 10.1k.
Last race I did I was given a time 90 secs faster than I did and and there where a number of people missed off, but getting in touch with the organisers it was sorted by the end of the day.
