I have thanks - about 2 stone since last year. The secret is running 50 miles a week and giving up crisps, takeaways and alcohol if anyone is interested.
Well, I did it. Took longer than last year when I did run-walk from the start. This year, I ran till my little legs wouldn't go any farther (23 miles) at which point I walked for a few hundred yards then ran the rest. Did it in 5.09. Pleased as I feel I did it like a "real" runner! Crowd support excellent, as ever, despite the less than perfect weather! Got soaked, I did!!!
That's brilliant !! Specially going all that way before needing only a little walk. You should be very proud of yourself. I find that run/walk doesn't seem to be much different to my run only time - just lets me go further than I probably would if I didn't walk at all. I'm going to enter the ballot again this year for the 5th time. Should be sure of an entry in 2008. Probably about 6.5 hours if I get to the end! Hope you are resting til T&G. Well done!
Thank you, RLTW. I was intending to rest until T and G, but find myself booked in for a 10 miler in Norfolk, my brother's local race. I got him out running with me when he visited us at Easter, so feel morally obliged to do this with him!
Sweetest Thing - 10 miles - piece of cake for you eh? I feel we need to tell the world that your RW image used to be one of Pooh Bear otherwise if they read our previous posts they're going to think we are nuts (or me at least)! I hadn't noticed that all the previous pics changed. You are doing really, really well with your sponsor page too.
Woohoo got my race pack through today! My first ever race, and I'm really looking forward to it. Gonna try and do a 40 minute, which is well within my capability...I hope.
See you all Friday, 7.30pm at All Bar One for the RW Runners Social?
I've just sent off my application for the T&G. It's my favourite race (did it in 2003 and 2005 and got PBs in both) but have been umming and aahing due to the fact that I'm running the Stratford Marathon on Sunday (7th), and I'll be graduating the day before (20th).
Hopefully my legs will hold out and I can minimise the congratulatory champagne or else I'll just have to go and watch instead.
Just a reminder that there will be at least a dozen Sports Masseurs at the start/end of the race - for an optional donation to Muscular Dystrophy. It sounds like some of you may need it!
Debating whether to do this one for a while. Only been back in running for 5 weeks. Had been running prior to birth of last child but took a break during pregnancy until he was 1 year! Managed 4 miles last weekend so wondering whether I should go for it! Or to look for one a bit later on.
The closing date has already passed I believe (which was why I had to enter before running my marathon). There's a lot of races around so good luck funding a suitable one.
Damn my knee.... thought it was al better as I ran the Marlow 5 with minimal reaction but did 3 mile on ittoday and can hardly walk! Going to rest it for the remainder of the week and see how it goes. looking doubtfull for this 10K tho :-(

Good luck to anyone from this thread who's doing FLM.
Run safe, run strong and ENJOY!!!
Good luck on Sunday ST.
How are you?
You will storm round London, will be thinking of you.
3.15 is a fab time!! I know you'll do it, super-fast runner that you are.
Nice picture, btw. Have you lost weight?
If I get 3:15 I will eat my hat!

Should be a good run. My 3rd 10K this year and doing the Marlow 5m on 7th so hopefully knees will hold out.
Just entered this one yet one more race after FLM (my first marathon), finished it in 3hrs 23mins.
Hope to do anytime under 40mins as I just missed out on the Lincoln 10k 3 weeks before London when I finished in 40mins 36secs.
Will then be a tourist for the rest of the day lol.
